Popular Post Evilhalfling
Landwryms are cunning wingless predators that ruthless scour their environment for prey, some claim that they represent a more primitive ancestor of dragons .... they lack magical abilities or the breath weapons of cousins but are well adapted to their environments. The gargantuan Desert Landwyrms are serpentine with yellow-brown scales that blend with their natural surroundings. Their powerful front and rear claws are normally held tight against the body. They are cunning and patient predators who lie in wait for victims. Conversion included removal of wing slots and sculpting scales C&C of painting welcome, I would love to make further adjustments. painted obsessively over a week.

Kangaroorex
He's wonderful but what will you do with the beautiful wings? Seriously except for a good base I got nothing for improvement. Nice job!
Rigel
Those cobblestone scales work perfectly! 3 hours ago, Kangaroorex said: He's wonderful but what will you do with the beautiful wings? Can't speak for Evilhalfling, but in these circumstances I would convert a Large or Huge giant into a devil or demon! Or maybe turn a giant snake into an Amphiptire? a giant bull into an infernal Lamassu? Options abound!

I hadn't even thought about it till you asked. Edited May 19, 2021 by Evilhalfling
Glitterwolf
This looks awesome! It's a great take on this mini. I do believe he deserves a nice scenic base.
Iridil
Wonderful coloring and seamless addition of scales. Outstanding!
ksbsnowowl
This guy looks great! The mottled cobblestone look of his scales is awesome. It makes me want to do something similar. If Marthrangul ever comes back in stock, I may need to pick him up. He would work great as an ibrandlin dragon for D&D (a CR 5 gargantuan dragon in 3e).
Moderator Chaoswolf Posted May 20, 2021 Moderator Share Posted May 20, 2021 Great conversion, I had to go pull up a picture of Marthrangul to see where the wings were supposed to go. I think the paint job is also very good and don't see anything to add/change.

My thought problem is that he should have a base that looks alot like him, to emphasize his camo, but then that seems like it would reduce the impact of the mini. perhaps something where he is obviously out of place, like slinking down a village road, or breaking into a stable...

He's a Desert dweller, right? You could have an oasis, maybe a girl getting water and he's sneaking up to her from behind. A few palmtrees or shrubs to hid him behind. Or he could be roaming around a temple ruin, or just a sand base with a few skulls.
