Back again for May!  Significantly less prodigious output this time now that work is back in full swing.  There was a fair few larger WIP pieces that I also started but I'm out of painting time this month so pencils down.

Man, I would really love this to be redone in Bones.  Great mini but metal is such a pain in the broccoli to work with. 

 

Henchmen 02548 (RCL May Freebie)

Apples/barrel/sack from Mantic Games Terrain Crate Market.  Side walk is DAS clay and a bit of wall trim from an oooold GW Mordheim sprue. 

 

Face on the rear most henchmen was badly miscast on the one I received so I tried to play it off as "the Hound" style burn injury. 

Skinsaw Man 60033 (RCL May Monster)

Good LORD this was a delight.  Not all of it worked 100% but this is easily one of my favorite pieces I've ever done.

Bhonk, Bugbear Chieftain 30005 (RCL May Recent Release)

With shield from Athak, Undead Knight 77408.  Initially intended to replace the whole shield but it ended up requiring more surgery than I wanted to do so I just slapped it on top.

 

Quite likes Bones USA overall.  Plastic is very hard and as such modifications are a bit trickier (kinda cuts like resin?) but it takes paint very well, detail is crisp and it doesn't feel like it can get bent at all.

Rock Troll 44002 ( RCL Q2 Large)

Some pretty bad gaps and defects in this early Bones Black piece.  Real enjoyable to paint but my repairs look preeetty rough up close.

All from the stretch goals of their last Kickstarter.  Very hyped for Dungeons and Lasers 3 and the mountain of minis that are involved in that.  Very good value.

Green Stuff World flagstone roller + DAS clay.  Part of my ongoing projects to have a mini for every published DND monster.  Figured...how hard can it be to make "floor that eats people"? 

 

...and that's it for May.   Back next month with (hopefully) the first minis from my "will this arrive on a pallet or not" Bones V order.

Lovely work. I'm going to shamelessly steal the skin colors of rock troll and vampiric guy. Good idea with the dragon slayer lady, I was thinking about doing the same but in marble. She's too true scale to play with other minis that I own 🙂

Henchmen and true dark ages color scheme are my absolute favourite of this bunch.

Yeah, something about those henchmen made me want to really play up the misery.  Their boss I based more like the rest of my villager npcs but for them I just had this image of miserably slogging through a muddy alley with some ill-gotten gains.
