Since we're talking an unlikely scenario because my favourite club shut down years ago, and most of the others died out during the pandemic...  I'm assuming New City Suburbs is alive and well again.

Normal me wouldn't scan it because Suburbs was in the heart of downtown, but if I had a burner phone on me...

Hubby would probably do something lkke use a QR code info app or something to get more information about it, lol

While normally I wouldn't be out late, but on the off chance that I am, if it's really late, then I am hammered beyond being able to be held accountable for my actions and my "friends" are having to assist me in walking to the next location.

Knowing said friends, they would be 1. instigating, 2. helping to hold my phone steady enough to scan it, and 3. it's a DRAGON!

Never scan strange codes with your crystal ball. Always connect remotely with divination spells to keep yourself safe.

Like most others, no.  Too risky for hijack of phone that I probably do not have on me to start with.  Phones are for talking.

I'm in Philly. I half expect to see a whole dude dressed as a three eyed dragon.

But I do not scan. I'm not a QR Code kind of rakshasa. But I would dare a random drunk to do so.

Have I been body snatched? Because that’s the only way you’ll find me at a bar or club  And no, I don’t scan it, because my one and only experience with scanning a QR  was just frustrating and annoying. I might take the dragon part of the sticker.

Seeing how nearly all of us are not bar or club regulars, and weary of QR codes, I propose to reword the question:

Alternate June 9 Question:

You're leaving your paint club or ReaperCon late at night. You see on a lamp post a yellow and purple picture of Reaper Sophie and a QR Code. Do you scan it?

If I was the kind of person who scanned QR codes, I might scan it.

I am not, however, the kind of person who does that, as I have a deep suspicion of QR codes in the wild. I might take a picture, and then look it up to see WTF it is, though.

No.

It is not beyond the realm of possibility that I'd be out late at night at a bar/club (the last few metal concerts I went to were at such businesses), but paying attention to that nonsense reduces my situational awareness of what's going on around me.

If we were at Reapercon I would ask someone else if they had scanned it and what the results were.

I have a problem with peeling stickers off of everything. There are no labels on the shampoo or cream rinse in the shower and the one on the anchovy paste recently disappeared as a result of fiddling fingers. If it can peel off, it's gone. I plan on writing "toothpaste" on that one and putting the tube in the shower. The QR code is probably not there anymore after I find it.

what are two things you were surprised to find were just different names for the same thing? (example, chickpea and garbanzo bean)

There's plenty! Snow peas/mange tout, eggplant/aubergine, saran wrap/clingfilm to name but a few, but my favourite is the bird species known as a Jaeger. @ManvsMini   used one as his inspiration in a recent rcl collaboration with @Thoramel and myself. I was like "wow, I've never heard of those, they must be a North American specialty" . I was somewhat surprised to find out that it was one of these fine birdies

We call them Skuas, but up where I come from they are referred to as Bonxies. Absolute thugs, but I love them

June 2,

"good artists borrow great artists steal" have you ever found a work you really enjoy because someone else was cribbing from it?

There's a song called 'Lasting Lover" that was in the UK charts last year and I don't normally like the person that sang it, but I kept on thinking that the non dance version was so much like something that Lewis Capaldi would sing....until I found a two year old video of him singing it live in festival in Belgum. True out that he wrote it ages ago, but cut it from his first album and he offered it to the other artist.

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you realize that the killer might in fact be a werewolf, or werewolves?

Bonus question how do you let everyone else know it might be werewolves?

If you've ever seen the excellent film, Dog Soldiers then you'll know that the only way to deal with them is to continually board up the windows and doors for as long as possible ::D:

If you haven't seen it, it highly recommend it. Imho, it's even better than An American Werewolf in London

I've been informed yesterday was "national doughnut day" did you have one? What's your preferred kind of doughnut? Do doughnuts even need a day?

Our local supermarket does these perfectly ordinary looking sugar ring donuts that are the most light, with and cloudy confections ever. I have no idea what their bakers are doing, but I sincerely hope that they keep doing it for the foreseeable future.

so what is the most interesting critter you've ever had to remove from your home?

Not much survives due to the cats, but we had to eject a Magpie that got into the kitchen via an open window last year. It was pretty calm, so I just opened up the window and door and it made its own way out pretty quickly.

The cats were understandably furious that I didn't share

Not sure if counts since it wasn't a removal but there was this house centipede the size of a football. The body itself wasn't that big but the giant mass of fluttery legs filled out the football size and silhouette quite nicely. It didn't leave the apartment, I chased it into the AC vent. I'm sure it still lives in our bathroom wall, the buggers live 7 years.

Well, that's my dose of high octane nightmare fuel for the night :zombie::unsure::wacko:  Thank goodness my bug hating cat sleeps in my room, ready to vanquish all things with too many legs. Pleasant dreams everyone!

I'm going to post this early for reasons

June 10,

Did the sun rise?

Do you know why I asked?

Currently we actually have storm clouds (GASP!) in the air. Came out of the FLGS tonight & was kinda shocked seeing them in the late night sky. NIce temps too, windy thou, but what's new around here. Came home & daughter had coaxed Thumper into coming inside to get out of the wind tonight. She (the bunny) is brooding over in her bed under the table. (she loves her outdoors when it's warm out).

& yes, "ring of fire" or lunar eclipse (moon passing between us & the sun tomorrow). We can't see it here at least live & in person, but I may try & catch online glimpses tomorrow if I get up that early.

Most likely no. I tend to ignore such things even it was Sophie. Most likely a link to a Reaper Social show, which I generally don't watch anyways.
