There's going to be chili for dinner? What do you serve with it?

Grated cheese and some kind of cracker. Cheez-its are a favorite but we also do soup crackers and sometimes saltines.  Cornbread occasionally, but in summer I don't like to bake.  Once in a rare while there might be tortilla chips around.

Chili is something I make a vat of during the cool months and store in the freezer to be microwaved for a quick dinner some night I don't want to cook.  Therefore, there's seldom anything prepared to go with it.  It's just whatever is on hand.

Cheese! Taco chips! Sour cream (because some of us are wimps, not because of that one time I dumped a whole bunch of what turned out to be thai chilis or something into the pot. Moral of that story: Mystery Peppers are dangerous, use cautiously. Or, y'know, don't).

That was good chili, but the only one it wasn't too hot for was the housemate, who thought it was fantastic.

We all ate it, and nobody combusted, but .. I think that stuff might have counted for hot on the 'we eat this stuff all the time, what're you talking about?' scale.

I'm thinking about running paranoia at a convention. Suggest some useless, funny, harmful, or pointless secret agent gadgets I can force on the trouble shooters.

One of the sectors harboring a permanent nuclear reactor has it's cooling system down for maintenance (well, it's down for reasons beyond your clearance level). This has created an "above average" amount of heat in the sector. Spare parts for the cooling system have mysteriously gone missing.

This has become a perfect opportunity for Bouncy Bubbly Beverage to test new flavors and refreshment distribution methods and maintain happiness levels with Friend Computer's blessing.

  • Heat gradually keeps increasing. Beverage dispensers start leaking; spraying colorful syrups; burst into flame; have the vending machine A.I. go rogue and forcefully offer free samples with the force of a fire hose, etc.
  • Background nuclear radiation levels are also increasing and "interfering" with some new secret ingredients. Random mutations. Unauthorized flavours are accidentally being created and stolen. And who knew "Blue Berry Bomb" flavor could actually explode under these conditions?
  • The parts used to refrigerate the beverages around the sector seem oddly compatible with those of the nuclear reactor.

Special troubleshooter equipment:

  • Propeller hats. Keeps you cool by gently blowing air on you. Excessive heat may affect the speed control, the direction of airflow, the ON/OFF button, and the sharpened weapon grade propeller may come loose.

Have a nice summer! Enjoyment of summer is mandatory.

When they grab a can of Mace, have it shoot out silly string instead.

Way behind on these so just going to jump to today's question...

So I've never played Paranoia, but now that I've read a quick synopsis of it I think I might have to try it at some point. So it looks like the "stab your buddy in the back" kind of game, so how about some weapons or explosives that are operated by remote control... except the person with the weapon isn't the same as the person with the remote for it? I love @Corsair's silly string mace idea too. I have no idea if these would fit into that system though.
