so what is the most interesting critter you've ever had to remove from your home?

Not counting livestock, a Hairy Tailed Mole. Did you know that they can launch into an ear splitting, sustained, scream when cornered? I didn't and it freaked me out when my cats cornered one in the house.

Spiders, bees, wasps. When not winter, I'd often trap them under a cup with a piece of paper and drop them outside.

You're kinder than I am.  If a wasp gets into our place, it's a death sentence (unless we somehow manage to chase it out).  One decided one of our light fixtures was a great place to take a nap, and a few hours later both of us were all "wait... That sounds like a hornet's wings..."  I know they can be useful to things, but they're also incredibly aggressive buggers...

Bees and spiders can live.  Our current house spider haaaaaates the dust above the hepa filter - hubby was mentioning it skittered differently, looking rather aggravated by such.  Then again, the dust in that area is weird...

Giant killer worm fight. What's your favorite of these critters? (examples: shai halud, the thresher maw, purple worm, graboid, xol, any thing that is huge, burrows and is generally worm like)

Oh, Mongolian death worm for the win.

I tried to live and let live with the little wasp nest above the garage last summer. Nope. Too territorial. I'd like to say I won that battle, but they went to make a nest in the tire swing and the kids found it first.

I absolutely adore bees. I think they are fascinating creatures. I keep rescuing them from the pond. If my landlord would let me, I'd put hives in the yard. But my dumb dog eating all the bees would probably necessitate far more epinephrine than it's worth.

My house spiders are outside. They're in the awning above the porch. With the swamp so close to the house, they get a feast. Last year I watched one devour a dragonfly. We have a deal, they only come out in the evening and I wear my hat, so we get on pretty well. My favorite are crab spiders because they change colour to match their environment. I saw a pink one in a wild rose flower one time.

Shai Hulud, aka the giant worms from Dune.

Yes, their size makes them somewhat unmanageable, but you can ride them, and their larval poop by-product is pretty trippy.

Shai-hulud wins hands down. Even without Special Agent Dale Cooper riding on the backs of one along with his army of desert folk they're still the biggest and scariest.

Snakes are basically worms, aren't they?

Raccons under the house.  We just put out 'critter ridder' and they stopped trying to make a nest pretty quick
