Our restrictions are gone for the vaccinated. My work required us to be back a month ago.  I am grateful for the increase work/home separation again.  They are working on a plan to let us do some sort of hybrid model, which would be nice; as I would like to work from home on certain days (like when I need to do an all day casting burnout).

Or a dont wanna mess with the snowblower — snow day?

Question July 8th.

Homeschooling/Working from home.

When the restricitions are lifted, do you plan to go back to work/school like before or do you have plans to ( partially) keep working/studying from home?

I was considered an essential worker, so I worked (at work) through the whole thing.

Less the snowblower (that's kind-of fun) and more "don't want to be on a snow covered road with a bunch of idiots who think that they are invincible because they drive a truck/SUV", but yeah, that.

I have the advantage of living within a 10 minute drive from my work place. Both locations have their pros/cons, so it'll be a mix.

There are days where I work purely on the computer and get bored, so I need some form of social distraction or motivation that isn't the internet. Plus the coffee/tea is free.

And there are some days where I have several meetings, with different clients and participants that do require a virtual presence. So doing them in the comfort of my home makes sense.

Undecided on how I'll do my half-day Fridays. If I plan errands in the afternoon, it can be a nice busy day.

I'm retired.  I plan to keep not working/studying from home!

I was never subject to the restrictions in the first place; so I'll keep going to work until my wife gets employment that requires us to move.

My own plans is to make it Hybrid.

Work from home a few days and on the Base for a few days.

Our Commanders have told us this is acceptable depending on the duties.

We've pretty much returned to normal here.  There's some talk about going to a part time work from home situation permanently, but honestly I'm fine with it either way.

I do think the mask mandate will and should probably return soon given the variants that have started to pop up (and we have had local cases of those now too), but I honestly kinda hated working from home.

I was only out of the workplace for about a month last Mar/April. It feels oddly out of step to keep hearing about not being at work from so many people.

I would go nuts working from home, because there's no way to provide the work/personal life barrier when you live in a one bedroom apartment...  If I had a dedicated space that was somewhat out of the way and it were a position where such were feasible and enjoyable, I might consider it.

But since vehicles don't drive themselves, I suspect I'll be out on the road for some time once I have re-acauired employment.

Same, we even had letters we had to have on our person for certain segments just in case...  Well, I was considered essential right up until the point where 30% of us were laid off, anyways.  Then my boss considered me such, because while I may not have been the fastest driver I had good knowledge, and I also had the biggest delivery route kilometer wise (I refueled every other day).

QUESTION July 6th.

For one day you can have a famous person's talent.

Who do you choose and what will you do with it?

I'd likely pick Ayrton Senna, or Schumacher, or maybe Hamilton, for a day when I was at the track and had something very fast to drive....

QUESTION July 7th.

Name 3 things that recently happened that you're thankful for.

1. Fully vaccinated.  Can go visit my folks this weekend.  And also the track :poke:

2. My back is going to be taken care of in the next few months or so. eventually (I just got off the phone with the surgeon's office, and his OR hours have been cut back, so "by the end of the year" may now be "sometime next year".....

3, That we have a few new players playing Legion.  With the money and time I've invested its good to have more people to play.

Our office is still holding off until likely September. I'm waiting to see what the new policies for flexible working will be.  I'd like to stay working from home as much as possible. Fully from home doesn't sound like it will be an option though.

I have one of those essential worker jobs you can't do from home. We tried homeschooling my niece the last few years, it was a catastrophe. She's going to high school next year, teenage drama or not.

I found out that essential workers can go to the Calgary Stampede for free within the first 5 days. You get tickets to the night show, too. While there are no chuckwagon races this year, it's still decent. I don't have plans to go, I'm too nerdy and not cowgirl enough, but many of the people at work are excited.

The missionaries came over for dessert with my home teacher earlier this month and were really into the minis and terrain. They found a guy a few towns over who is also into them. I'm hoping to have him over for a game some time. It's nice to have other rural people to play with.

My advanced first aid class finally ran in early June. I got to see some of my friends I haven't seen in two years. One lady, who is a standard first aid instructor helped me make sense of some things that were confusing me for years. We got to use the new mannequins that light up when you do CPR--that was really neat. Everyone is super supportive of each other, it's wonderful and I wish the whole world was like that. I stayed with my cousins who I had a really great time with.

We didn't have a lot of COVID restrictions in our state, and these days, what with the vaccines out and everything, we really don't have much left. Restaurants and such are back up to 100% capacity, we can walk around maskless, we can high five again... And there's still been less than a dozen cases in our county.

So back to the question... Guess I've already gone back to work/school like before. Except, obviously, school's not happening right now.

My overlords, er, managers, have announced that when the restrictions are fully lifted (anticipated to be mid-August) that they will authorize telework two days a week, and I’ll probably take them up on that.
