QUESTION July 13th.

What's your favorite decoration/ornament in your home?

Our little collection of Jon Anderson Animals.

These are made of Fimo Clay and with all sorts of symbols.

Picked them up during my visits to Tucson.

The jacket:

Had the same jacket during my gigging years. Miss that thing, it was beat to hell and man, the stories it could tell. Not even sure what happened to it, likely stolen by a girl at some point.

QUESTION July 13th.

What's your favorite decoration/ornament in your home?

My black cat statue. Because it holds the ashes of my boy.

Of less sentimental nature, I recently picked up a 2' replica of Nike of Samothrace that's pretty nifty.

Wish I was at home to send a picture, but unfortunately I am on vacation right now (never thought I'd say that last half).

Probably a signed poster from my favorite jazz band.

I don't have a lot of decorations in my home.

QUESTION July 13th.

What's your favorite decoration/ornament in your home?

A Porcelain Elephant.

The Rocky Horror shadowcast my fiance and I are a part of holds a "White Elephant" gift exchange each winter.  We all bring gifts and randomly pick from the pile or steal from an already open present.  It's silly and fun.  But at the end of the evening we vote to award the member who contributed the most without having an elected position in the cast and give them the White Elephant to keep until next year.  Winter 2019 I was lucky enough to be awarded the Elephant and it took a position of pride on our bookshelf.  This past winter, while holding the party remotely over zoom, my fiance won the Elephant.  So for the second year in a row it remains in our living room, surveying the land - a reminder that we are valued by our friends.

I don't have one favourite in particular, though I do appreciate several of them. Here's two of them now:

Bob Ross is self-explanatory, but can anyone guess what the second one is for?

QUESTION July 13th.

What's your favorite decoration/ornament in your home?

That's a tough one, we have a lot of art and whatnot hanging on the walls and on desks and whatever. We like a colorful, diverse home. Couldn't say I have a favorite, but here are a few things that are probably near the top of the list:

This photo is of a guy picking up some milk in Eritrea. A lady in my neighborhood is originally from that part of the world and a few years ago she went over there and gave out those little disposable cameras to children. This picture was snapped by a 3 year old girl and the guy in it has a big old smile you can't really see that makes me happy.

This historic photo of a Pittsburgh Penguins goalie from the days when men were men and apparently so were penguins.

And this carving of a lucky jack*ss my great uncle Louis carved for me when I was 9 and he was 92. It's seen better days, but it's still gone on display wherever I've lived since.

Uh.... dust? 'Cause I sure seem to have a lot of it.

I have a collection of vintage, carnival, and art glass I'm rather fond of.

QUESTION JULY 12th.

What's you favorite piece of clothing?

I'd have to say my "whites".  We wear all white while marshaling, so when I'm in my whites I'm in my happy place.  I have several sets because, well, we're wearing white while outdoors, and often end up doing things that get you covered with all manner of things.

Right now, probably this guy (generic photo )

I have him sitting on my desk and usually tap his head a couple times a day, when I need a distraction.

That looks vaguely familiar.

Interesting. I'm almost positive I've never worn it to Reapercon, and don't think I've ever shown it off on the forums before, so I'm mildly curious where you might've seen it. I have worn it through a lot of airports, though.

Just one of those mysteries of the universe, I guess.

Probably the porcelain doves my maternal grandmother made a very long time ago.

WEEKEND CHALLENGE July 9th / July 11th.

Share something you created/baked/cooked/painted/built/made this weekend.

I made a hole in myself, but no one wants to see that.

I guess I would have to say my Pook toque. It has sock "ears". The public adores it. It's super warm.

I know I've seen you in it as well....somewhere.

Favorite deco?? Hmmmm, probably gonna say a couple of porcelain gargoyles I got at one of the dollar stores that was one of the first to open (now closed of course) here, many, many years ago. They are roughly human head size & hey, they cost me 2 bucks total!! They sit on a shelf above my painting desk upstairs. If they ever come to life, they'd probably choke on the dust that has accumulated on them over the years.
