Grumpy Gnome
My latest progress report… https://thegrumpygnome.home.blog/2021/11/12/a-few-things-finally-finished-and-new-arrivals/ As always feedback very welcome. Moderator Chaoswolf Posted November 14, 2021 Moderator Share Posted November 14, 2021 Those are some good looking figures, and the reviews on the blog were excellent, thank you! I'm particularly impressed by the Archon Studios stuff you showed. I don't know if I want to do a late pledge to grab some of it, or wait and see wait the new KS will have.
Grumpy Gnome
Personally I would say get a late pledge in now. Turn around from pledge to delivery was only a couple of weeks. The next Rampart KS has been postponed until January and while you can often get stuff from earlier Kickstarter campaigns in their latest Kickstarter it is not always at as low a price.

Grumpy Gnome
I have just written a lengthy blog post asking the question… what new genre should I do now that I have won some auctions with some 20th Century miniatures and vehicles…https://thegrumpygnomehome.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=4823&action=edit World War 2? Weird War 2? Atomicpunk/Dieselpunk Fallout? Worldwar (Alien Lizardfolk invasion) Something else? lowlylowlycook
Well, it would bring a smile to my face to read about another person doing the Ethiopian-Italian conflict. Another thing is that Empress Miniatures has an American WW2 line. They make very nice minis

Mrs. GG has been reluctant to volunteer for these games. Her interests are more pre-20th Century historical fantasy. However she has said that she will try to keep an open mind and if I pitch an interesting enough concept she may try it. However, at this stage I am figuring it will most likely be solo gaming for this project. Edited December 14, 2021 by Grumpy Gnome

That being the case, which do you think you'd most enjoy building/converting/painting models for? I would be inclined to pick whichever one has the biggest crossover potential. For example doing them as WW2 would allow you to play WW2 games, and with a few slight tweaks you could also game Weird WW2.
Grumpy Gnome
Well that is really the trick, deciding what I want to do most. Getting the most “bang for my buck” is a big part of it and that means trying to be creative with genre and setting. I can not build and store and endless selection of terrain. I am pretty committed to Chain of Command as it scratches the platoon operations itch but otherwise I am pretty open to various options. Moderator Chaoswolf Posted December 26, 2021 Moderator Share Posted December 26, 2021 Good progress on the FrostGrave stuff; I really like the improvements you made to the dragon! One of your picture links is broken, though, the one of the zombie. I hope you had a Merry Christmas.
Grumpy Gnome
Thanks! I have had a good Christmas and you have as well. I checked my photos, they are all working for me so I am not sure what is broken or how to fix it, sorry.
