Popular Post Dr Boom
Inspired by Mr Schubert's recent masterpiece, I thought I'd give the same colour scheme a go. Needless to say I didn't quite spend quite as much time doing this guy, however it was good exercise in painting iridescent colours in non-metallics which I plan to use again. The photo is a little dark, so the greens and purples are a little more visible in person (trust me).

Moderator Chaoswolf Posted August 7, 2021 Moderator Share Posted August 7, 2021 So do I. Nice job on the little fella. Is this practice for his big brother from Bones 5?
dks
Good work! I am honored that my rendition inspired you to try something new. I third the praise for the glowing eyes. The green on the eyelids really sells the illusion of a glow. Those nice subtle purples and greens show up well when I turn up my monitor's brightness. Maybe they would show up better in photos against a mid-value/darker background instead of the white/light? I like to shoot with a dark gray or dark blue background, because then the background is darker than my painted highlights, but lighter than my painted shadows. Thanks for sharing! I look forward to seeing what else you paint in iridescent colors. -- Derek 5
