Getting To Know You, September

*The Haminister shakes out the Quisitor robes, and slips them onto his furry form. He takes a big drink of his coffee, and copies the rules from the last thread.*

The rules as they currently stand ( we all know most of you rebellious lot will ignore most of it, but one can try)

1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question.

1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and post one...

2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
3. Questions are going to be posted between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM Reaper Time (Central).  If i am late, feel free to post something in my stead.
4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to me...
5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why can be fun...unless TMI).
7. Weekend questions will usually take the form of two or three day quests, starting on Friday or Saturday.

I will post the first question in a few minutes; I need to finish this first cup of coffee....

Question for September 1:

Today, many of you will be heading out to ReaperCon (have fun and be safe!)

For those who are going, what are you most looking forward to?

Just getting out and doing something normal.  Not looking at the same 4 walls, and seeing old friends again.  Con specific: trade table and parts bins.

Not going ( Europe).

I look forward to meeting some friends again this month we haven't seen in a while.

Also looking forward to go out to dinner again.

  • Today I'm going to the dentist to fix a filling!
  • Tomorrow, two more appointments.
  • Right after those, my first trip/vacation in 18 months to see the family for the long weekend.
  • Then I'll be working 13 hour nights for about ten days as I'll be overseeing some major work and overhaul of a lime kiln at a paper mill.

We're September 1st, and already I feel like I won't have enough time this month.

No Reapercon for me I'm afraid. Would love to go to meet all you lovely forumites, the Reaper sculptors and painters, enter the MSP open and just generally enjoy the experience someday though.

This month I'm hoping for some late summer sun, continuing to work on getting my painting mojo back and trying to build up my stamina back to where it was a few months ago. I've also decided to reorganize my painting area but that might be a winter project at the rate things are going!

No Reapercon here either.

Looking forward to cooler weather.  Looking forward to finally getting to a car race at my track.  Looking forward to our Star Wars Legion numbers continuing to grow at the store.
But mostly looking forward to the cooler weather :poke:

ReaperCon isn't in the books for me, that much is certain.

But I am definitely looking forward to my box from (redacted) which will have a bunch of shiny lovely things, including a second desk dragon, several alchemy sets, some "gems" and a few other things...

Also hopefully looking forward to a phone call I nthe next few days...

I am also not attending this year...

Things I'm looking forward to in Sept include cooler weather (though this summer has been mild), vacation (this week! Woohoo!!), and the return of pumpkin beers and halloween decorations!

I will be attending Reapercon, and I'll miss not seeing those of you who aren't there.

I'm mostly looking forward to being able to go out and getting to see some wonderful people who I haven't seen in person in far too long.

My adopted grandma is visiting relatives in Oregon. I'm so happy for her. I asked for a postcard, so I look forward for it arriving.

Stargrave's first official expansion will be arriving in my mailbox about the middle of the month. I know @Crowley is excited for it, too! We'll see how well it translates over to Egyptian Frostgrave. Maybe some other RoSD and Frostgrave stuff will release this fall.

My boss got trampled in the trailer at work by cattle. They broke two vertebrae in his back and has to have a halo while it heals. I'll be happy to see him without the halo, even if it's only a photo. I made TV dinners for him when he gets home.

Really? You get tired of your cooking? But we're all so jealous!

I'm not going to Reapercon this year. Maybe in the future. I'm sure you'll all miss me. But that's only because none of you know what I look like so you don't know where to aim!

I'm looking forward to my official field season wrapping up at the end of the month. Normally that's a sad occasion because I love field work, but we've had a crazy workload this year and too many nights in hotels. It's been exhausting. I've also got a AAA ball game I'm going to with friends this weekend. I'm looking forward to teaching their child who just entered kindergarten a variety of interesting hand signs and curses. Around the middle of the month I'm going to my first live concert since before the pandemic, Primus doing the entire Rush album A Farewell to Kings. I wasn't sure about going what with Covid cases on the rise. But it's outdoors and the venue is now requiring you show proof of vaccination for entry - so might as well give it a shot. And finally, I'm looking forward to my gaming group getting together in full near the end of the month. This will only be the second time we've all been together since pre pandemic. I've known most of these guys for thirty or so years, and hanging out with those idiots as a group always makes me happy.
