Question for September 10:

What's your favorite mini that you own? Painted or not. Pics welcome, links only if it's to the Reaper store.

That's difficult.

I don't think I can really choose one.

Stuff I painted and consider among my favorites ( The Owlbear was a gift from @Corsair, I painted it, The Asian Dragon was a gift from @Kangaroorex which I also painted), The Boxer Bust resembles Brutus.

If I tried really hard I could probably come up with a top 50 favourite minis, but picking just one is too much.

Heck, I couldn't even pick a favourite mini out of what's on my painting desk at the moment (Currently it would be a tie between Angry Warrior Lady and Fancy Elven Archer (Not my pictures), although that opinion would undoubtedly change if I had another look at my desk).

Just one? That's a tough call. I've got two on my work from home desk that always cheer me up a bit when I'm stuck inside doing paperwork instead of kicking around in a swamp somewhere. So I'll say it's a tossup between them.

The one on the left is a happy little dwarf from Bears Head Minis and the one on the right is what I'm assuming is an Entling from one of the Reaper familiar packs. The dwarf is so excited to be out of his hole and in nature that he's stripped off his armor and is dancing about in his knickers. The Entling has his own little glen with a pretty little wetland. Neither of these are intended for gaming. Just fun little things that cheer me up.

Of course, if you ask that question again tomorrow you may get a completely different answer.

You can say he's a happy dwarf to be out of his hole, I must be painting too many Bronze Age minis, because to me he looks like he's about to give a very enthusiastic sermon on the mount.

@Glitterwolf I like the Brutus bust the best; it really does look like him. Do they make it in German Shepherd?

Question for Wednesday September 8th:

Today is Star Trek day! I've been a fan for basically my whole life, and my love has never wained for it, in spite of some questionable choices/episodes.

What's something from your childhood that you still love?

Silly monster films. Modern kaiju are cool and all, but they lack the charm of the old style stop motion or a man in a rubber suit.

Question for September 9th:

What was the worst physical injury you've suffered?

I've been pretty lucky, or at least I was until this year. Don't really want to go into details on a public forum but the last few months have not been great. Then again, it could be a lot worse and I'll probably get better eventually.

Painted would be my version of Dance of Death, mostly because Julie Guthrie is such a phenomenal sculptor. A friend of mine calls my version "Angry pinecone vs icecube"

Unpainted would be this awesome dragon from Legend of Signum. He's not painted yet because I need to master NMM and OSL so I can do him justice.

I received an angel kitty from @OneBoot  that she painted as a surprise gift for me when Marmalade passed away, and I keep it safe and sound. It's still one of the most touching gifts that I've ever had.

not from this manufcturer, but if you google German Shepherd Bust you'll find several, both painted, and unpainted versions in different materials.

Quest for Saturday and Sunday, Sept 11+12

Try something new this weekend, and tell us how it went.

Challenge accepted!

Tomorrow I shall go to IKEA and buy only the things on my list i.e. a throw, some napkins and some bulbs.

How hard can that be?

I made saag paneer to go with dinner.  It's a simple dish of chopped and wilted spinach, cooked with onion, garlic and ginger, and a few spices, mixed with cubed farmer's cheese and a bit of yogurt.  An asian variation on creamed spinach, if you will.  I've had it many times in restaurants, and always wanted to make it at home.   It came out ok for a first try.  Next time I think it needs more spinach and less paneer and yogurt.

It’s a tie between breaking my my right arm (when my younger brother pulled me down the stairs) and breaking my left arm (when my older brother chased me into a brick wall). Brothers are great.

You’re a cruel hamster to make me choose one.

I decided to make a shawl out of my cat, so I could play frizbee with my dog. I draped him around behind my neck. It didn't work too well, he's not long enough. It wasn't comfortable for either party. He didn't seem to mind it--he didn't claw my eyes out. But he's super gentle anyway.

I made potato chocolate cake from scratch, because of this.

I went a little heavy on the cloves, but otherwise it's great! Having a slice with my morning coffee.
