Well, I've never broken anything, or had any serious soft tissue injuries.  So far.
So my worst would be my L5-S1 nerve impingement.  I walked with a cane for over half a year and still can't lift the toes on my left foot above horizontal well over 10 years later.

The L4-L5 one was bad, but not as annoying as that one.

I'm not sure if the fractured rib or the oil burn on my wrist was worse. Both were deeply unpleasant.

Physical injuries have been relatively mild, nothing requiring a trip to the hospital. At worst, some deep cuts or bruised bone.  I've sliced fingers to the bone twice, and once fell on my knee so hard I could not walk for a week. 

 

 

Meanwhile I've had some emergency surgeries and elective procedures you really don't want to know the details of.

I broke my foot in a fall about ten years ago. The break was so violent it snapped the tendons on the bottom of my foot. Then I had little bits of bone still attached to my tendon floating around and causing pain every time I put my foot down. Ended up having to have surgery for it, but it left me with one foot about a half size bigger than the other one. Which makes it tough on days when I'm on my feet all day. But at least they cleared out all the bone fragments so I can walk relatively normally most of the time.

Each new injury I collect always seems to be worse than the previous. I must have started with the equivalent of training-wheels.

Had that, and it yeah it sucked. But pain meds and WoW's Wrath of the Lich King expansion was a great way to kill a winter.

 

The inguinal hernias were horrible because it took six months and five doctors to finally diagnose it properly.

My worst falls into this category, so I'll just sum up. Started with twinge in my lower back, pain radiating to places you really don't want pain, took 13 doctors almost 2 years to find a diagnosis with evidence to support it, plus an out of state surgery that insurance wouldn't pay for, giving me two new 7-inch scars. Rounds of specialized physical therapy, and I will have lasting numbness possibly forever.

A couple of small shrapnel cuts from active service 39 years ago. I count myself lucky having done any number of fool-hardy things in life.

Only minor cuts and bruises.

I have broken a few bones. I once cut the tip off my left index finger, but just a bit, no bone damage. I've had my head split open a few times, but probably the worst was when I inadvertently pushed my hand through a glass door and had to have stitches.

That time when I hopped down a short distance and my foot popped from my navicular scraping over my medial cuneiform. I was instructed to stay off work for 2 weeks, but was back doing what I was doing 2 days later.

I had about ten stiches on the top of my foot when I ran into the bottom of a chain link fence.  I can still see the scar 60 years latter.  Now the broken foot my brother got trying to drive on me in basketball is the worst injury I've caused.

Compression fracture of my L5 lumbar. It was close to 30 years ago, and it has bothered me more or less the whole time. I was hit by a car.

In the grand scheme of things, I’ve been pretty lucky.  I took a header over the handlebars during a group bike ride in 2007, and was concussed enough that I don’t remember about an hour and a half after the accident.  I also ended up with a bit of pre-accident memory loss amounting to a few minutes before hand, so I have no memory of the actual event.  I was wearing a helmet (of course), which was seriously cracked, so presumably I would have crushed my skull otherwise. (Wear a helmet, folks!). But I got away with just a few cosmetic scars on my hands and knees as a lingering reminder…

I am blessed to still be alive! 2 stabbings and 3 serious car accidents, one of which broke seven vertebrae in my neck and back. God was merciful.

Goriest was the time I fell in the gutter at work and peeled the skin off my knee. It hurt surprisingly little. I think that was like 15 staples. It was a textbook classic avulsion. Longest lasting effects has been the talon the pressure hose at work made of my left index finger. It was essentially a gunshot wound.
