The kink in my shoulder that won't let go, cats throwing up, the microwave beeping annoyingly.....and that pervasive feeling that I've forgotten something.

I keep trying to go do fun stuff like painting or drinking beer. But I'm distracted by all these annoying responsibilities.

Question for Sept. 13th For the adults: When did you feel like you were a 'grown-up'? I don't think that I'll ever feel 'grown up', but I'm really good at faking it so most people that meet me have no idea! The John Muir Trust does a lot of great work in Scotland making sure that people have access to the wilder places up north. He also has a couple of statues in/near his home town of Dunbar. The bear is the work of Andy Scott, creator of the famous Kelpies. Pity it's on a roundabout 5 hours ago, Crowley said: Late question for September 15 What's got you distracted today? Didn't get much sleep because Diva was sick last night and eventually produced a massive hairball at about 6am. We've been looking after her and making sure she has plenty of soft foods so not to aggravate her sore throat. Didn't even get any painting done because Creaky Cat decided that she needed more cuddles. She seems a lot better now. Some of the other drivers at the new job. That and another job I applied to apparently tried calling and then texting me while I was at work. Sure, they'll pay more than my current one (a whopping $5.23/hour more) but it would be courier work, and I kind of.... Don't want to do that (I only applied there as, y'know, another job to apply to). Yeah, it would be another $300ish per cheque, but it's also courier work, ehich means you're dead tired come Friday... 9

The explosion of Covid cases that is causing the whole province to essentially go back to spring. It's like when you have to default your phone to factory settings-- it makes it work, but all the fun stuff is gone. The fact that I would be a terrible politician because I actually express myself when I read.
Rob Dean
16 hours ago, Crowley said: Late question for September 15 What's got you distracted today? Yesterday was the third day of an emergency response training exercise for work, a LARP (but a quite dull one), for which I am the head GM. We had to virtualize it this year, so we are spread out over a whole series of MS Teams resources. Most of the people can barely use Teams, don’t want to be there, and have suspect reading comprehension, so it’s a bit of a cat-herding drill. Half a day today yet to go.
Glitterwolf
16 hours ago, Crowley said: Late question for September 15 What's got you distracted today? I was so distracted it's already tomorrow... We have a canopy build over a stairs that leads to one of our cellars. It was raining a lot and somehow water leaked through and I got water on those stairs. After some searching we noticed that there are small slots on top of it that are meant for draining the water and those were clogged. Hoping this was the cause, if not I will have to search again for the leak.
