Question for September 1:

Today, many of you will be heading out to ReaperCon (have fun and be safe!)

For those who are going, what are you most looking forward to?

For those who aren't, what are you looking forward to this month?

I'm looking forward to having running water again. Also, fall is Soon, and I am looking forward to that.

Nothing to really look forward to. Anxious is a better term. Everyone's going to a wedding down south (except for me, last minute cancellation due to doggie health who can't travel), traveling through states and mingling with who knows who. Hope everyone gets back safely and keeps themselves healthy.

Hopefully finding a new job.

This would be nice to look forward to, but given my luck, I'll still be filling out applications this month. Same thing I do every month, September is rinse and repeat.

Had to cancel going to Reapercon, so we are changing plans, so they are a bit fluid at the moment.

No Reapercon yet, but never say die, I'll be there one day, hopefully with a very full wallet. Really looking forward to seeing all your photos. (Heavy hint!)

This month I look forward to running my stall at the local farmers market and, when all the tourists go home, having a nice day book-shopping in one of the bigger towns in my county.

Question for September 2:

What was the last artist* you directly financially supported? And what did you pay for?

*painter, sculptor, musician, author... Feel free to define artist however you wish. Buying from Reaper (for example) doesn't count as directly.

Oh, maybe it was Marike Reimer? I bought her Dark Sword painting DVD directly from her, and got it autographed as a bonus. She was also donating a portion of the sales to a charity (can't remember which) so it was a double bonus.

EDIT: Upon reflection, the latest might actually be Tre Manor, as I bought a bunch of Red Box Games minis when he closed the store. And since he sculpts all of his own minis for his business, I qualify that.

I was about to put a long list, since Patreon billed me yesterday.......
But I just noticed that Stonehaven Miniatures has a Patreon yesterday afternoon (guess I should read their emailings more often) so Mike Evans would be the sculptor I directly supported most recently.
But if you ask that question again next week I'll have a different answer (not that Patreon is addictive....I can quite any time I want!)

Hard to say. I buy more stuff than I should directly from artists. I buy a lot of music directly, since I listen to a lot of indie label stuff. I've bought student art that I liked when it was hanging in the studio when I was taking night classes (I just left a note and my card, I bet the teachers got a kick out of the classroom becoming a gallery). Every now and again I'll pick up a piece from a local artist, the last one is a painting of a skunk in a perfume bottle (because I have many skunks in the woods). Rarely can I swing for a big-name piece, last one was a small portrait drawing from Patrick Jones.

Probably the most common thing is supporting my buddy's art supply store/gallery that he started in mid-2019. Unfortunately for him, I use cheap materials and don't go through a lot of them (especially during my 2-year art drought).

We bought a clay and wire sun.  Don't know the artist name but they signed it MEX
