I hope I can catch some of the virtual stuff.

I have 22 cousins who live one county East of me. 13 out of 22 were vaccinated (the rest were grand-kidlings too young for any vaccine).

12 out of the 22 caught the Delta variant. 5 of the 12 were kids, the rest were vaccinated adults that looked after them. It punched right through the vaccine.

I’m looking forward to them getting well.

Question for September 2:

What was the last artist* you directly financially supported? And what did you pay for?

*painter, sculptor, musician, author... Feel free to define artist however you wish. Buying from Reaper (for example) doesn't count as directly.

I bought music from a band called Explosions in the Sky.

Does subscribing to a channel on Twitch TV count?**

And what did you pay for?

:upside: ……extra emotes?

**I may have to change this answer.

Odds are such would be ThunderheadStudio on Twitch, since I resubved a few days ago and he was the most recent resub (I think)...

Got to spend a while talking with the main sculptor/artisan at a company I purchased things from (an order than came in yesterday, whoo!)

Not going to Reapercon this year.

This month I'm most looking forward to all my theatre stuff starting up again. Boy have I missed it.

I like them. My first portrait model picked them as the music for one session, which is how I learned about them. Back in portrait class, everyone who was inclined had a chance to pick the music for a session. I turned a bunch of folks onto the Budos Band that first semester!

Paul Kidby, commissioned him to paint a Discworld picture to give to the beloved wife on our (redacted) anniversary.

I think I've already boasted about this on the forum, so forgive me for repeated showing off.

Probably good ol' Joe McCullough. I buy his digital games through Drive Thru RPG. For minis, Crocodile Games all the way. They usually have a fall sale, so I've been saving up for a new army starter.

Miniwargaming was a subscription that I had, especially when Dave was putting up videos on teaching his wife how to play 40K. Eventually ended it because I wasn't getting enough value from their Vault.

Question for September 3:

What is something the place that's you're from (originally, currently, or something in between) is known for? Is it fair/accurate?

Originally from, being a toxic waste dump.

Is it accurate? It was. Dupont gave a whole bunch of people cancer by dumping things into a small stream that acquired the name "acid brook". There has been ongoing clean up there since the mid 80s. They are still not done.

The clean up was not a voluntary thing, it was forced by the court.

"The world's highest tides".  Pretty much every community along the Bay of Fundy and Minas Basin claim that.

A quick google show's the region still has the record.
