Reapercon 2022 excitement thread!

Well, think I've given up on getting my super duper fancy diorama put together again. Third year in a row. Was a bit down on not really having the time to just punch out a figure for any category, but then realized that I have CAD. I can pose up a figure that won't be going into the diorama, print that, and paint it. Maybe I can get some tips and stuff after that's done on how to do the figures for next year's SDFD.

Then I'll try getting a couple more entries down, but time is growing short for me to put the level of effort I want into them.

I'm in the same boat. Dark Sword is keeping me so busy sculpting this year that I'm not sure when I am going to find the time to actually paint something. Maybe, I'll do another meerkat.

There’s always the fireplace!

Too much OSL. No time for that.

I wish I could paint one of the sculpts I did for B6.  I could pound out the flumph pretty fast, but Proctor says they don't count as Reaper figures until Reaper releases them.

Going for a Sophie then? Lots of non-Reaper entries.

I did a Dark Sword last year, but yeah, I usually like to try to paint something I sculpted for Reaper.  I may not get a Sophie, but it's nice to be in the running.

Don't let Pezler hear that about the flumphs!

Anyway I am working on some very simple, ie: knockdown building for Stargrave and Frostgrave. Found some cheap foldable gift boxes at Hobby Lobby, so they are getting spray painted and some flat greebles will  e glued on so they will be convenient to transport. The best part is I will have .50 cents to a buck at most in any of them, so if there is a disaster, it doesn't hurt.

Question. Looking at Growtix, should we expect a first draft of the game/event schedules soon?

Seeing as there are dozens of classes I'm interested in, I know I'll have to greatly cut down my selection and mix it up with the other activities.

I also remember the mad dash to register for every wanted class as some of them fill up in instants.

IIRC, they generally go up around the same time as the classes do. Hopefully, early next month.

We're working on the Gaming Schedule. At this point, we're just waiting for the submissions to get uploaded by the various societies and groups.

We're pushing them to get things in quickly so we can get the schedule put up. 🙂

If I infer correctly, you make a good point.  I don't game at RC, but if I did, having all the schedules released at roughly the same time would be extremely helpful.  If one wants to take classes and also game, plus attend events, then a complete RC schedule is necessary to plan one's personal schedule.  I've never paid attention to the gaming schedule -- is it released well before registration?

Since classes and the contest are my only priority -- other than the vendors and the whole RC ambiance -- I've never had to trade off a game or an event for a class.  Would be tough without comprehensive information.

What about games that don't have official organized play groups (like Stargrave)?

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere here, so:

Classes for VIP ticket holders go on sale at noon central time this coming Wednesday, 7/6/22. Regular ticket holder can get classes on Friday, 7/8/22.

Figures that this hasn't been announced officially anywhere yet. I assume it was mentioned on Twitch somewhere?
