Actually only 1 game really has a horror theme & it's of the otherworldly aka Cthulhu horror. Definitely try for Joseph Wolf's games. He'll be running the new Reaper rpg rules for those. As Inarah said, they just put this up & most games are still not in yet, give it some time. I mean it is Reaper. 😁 I don't expect all of my tables to be full, as people change schedules once they are at the Con. I don't mind, just signing up gets first dibs at the table vs a walk-up.
Adrift
Wasn’t there a thing with there not being a melt table at last ReaperCon? I’d forgotten my scrap so it never made the journey and I tuned it out.

Sounds like it'll be there, but you can only trade for the metal on the table this time around. No factory shopping like in the past. I wonder how they'll do this for people with past year's credit............. It's not 100% sure yet, but it's leaning towards this way.
Moderator Chaoswolf Posted July 8, 2022 Moderator Share Posted July 8, 2022 Yes, that's right. The last I heard, they were still discussing it; working out specifics I'd imagine. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a positive outcome.
Adrift
Ugh, because I’ve got all this scrap and don’t necessarily want more figures. Maybe I’ll just give away my credit. or I’m just going to throw it all out bc I don’t need to be hauling this much extra weight on my flight, etc. Edited July 8, 2022 by Adrift

If they're doing away with Boneyard shopping it would make sense for people who have existing melt credit to be able to go to the Boneyard and those with new melt credit be able to take it from the Table of Tetanus. That way the people who have credit aren't penalized and the new metal trade in can still find stuff to take with them. I see it as a reasonable compromise for what seems to be the last year of metal bits picking. Edited July 8, 2022 by Rastl 2

I don't understand the 'assign it to a name' part? We have a single growtix account, and we used it to get 3 VIP tickets under different names. We were eventually able to reserve one slot for one game (Friday's Crypt session!) but we can't figure out how to reserve a second seat? It doesn't matter whose order confirmation we use, they all see the Countess as the only GrowTix account holder, so it keeps kicking us out and saying "you are already registered for this game." Very frustrating, as we weren't even able to get a single seat for the Thursday night session that Randy is running... Do we have to create multiple GrowTix accounts? Thanks! -t

Thanks! -t It could be similar to the below, but these are classes not games. Single GrowTix account, but both me and my wife are on it. I could buy two tickets (at the same time so there's disconcerting difference #1) but it puts them both under my name. I then had to click the circled "edit" and reassign it to her. I think the idea is to register for the game, then find a similar screen to the below, assign it to the non-primary account name, then register again to get the second person. That might get around whatever tomfoolery is going on. 1

Thanks! -t If anything, try & come to my table, as I almost never have everyone that has signed up to play at the table. The way I do it is, registered gamers will get the seat first & foremost, but if there are still spots, I will wait for like 10 mins after the start time & if registered people are not there, then the seat is open to anyone (with Con ticket of course). I hope you can make at least 1 of my tables this year. 3

I would not mind only being able to trade for metal on the table. Some of my best finds came from that table. It would act as a way for collectors to swap old metal. BUT they would need to stop selling the figures on the meltdown table for money. or the ratio of credit to available metal will become increasingly disproportionate. buckyball

Now if you wanted to outright buy a figure off the table it was whatever the cost of metal per oz was at the time of the Con. I will feel screwed over if I can only use my existing credit that I've amassed over the years of going to ReaperCon to use in the metal table. Which tbh is a shadow of itself when it was first made it appearance at the factory.

Which tbh is a shadow of itself when it was first made it appearance at the factory. I seem to remember that in 2019 there was a sign stating that people could buy metal figures off of the table for $1 per oz which to me sounded like an amazing deal at the time. Now I could be mistaken about what the offer was, because I had come with lbs of miniatures to trade, and didn't need to buy any. Haldir you must have a lot more credit than I do; and I have kind of a lot. But I have also pulled things off of the meltdown table like the core of a Roman army. One year there was an18th century Austrian army in 15mm. I suspect you are right that the table isn't as huge as it was at the factory, and it would seem unsustainable to just have what comes in each year. But I have noticed that slightly imperfect miniatures from other companies like Bombshell have ended up on the table. If Reaper and some participating manufacturers seed the table with extra inventory, people's existing credits may continue to decline each year until they are exhausted. And then I don't know what will happen. But looking back most of my best finds came from what other people were willing to part with on that table. So even if it ends this year I got no regrets buckyball
haldir
Ok I wasn't there in 2019, so maybe they were trying unload the table before they loaded it back up for the factory?? Yah, I have quite a bit. Jon did say they were thinking about converting it to online store credit. I dont mind that, but part of ReaperCon will always be shopping the Boneyard. Thing is, he did say there wasn't allot of people & I was thinking, most of those might be people that no longer come to ReaperCon these days. Thou it also might recent attendees as well. Hopefully something will be presented that pleases all parties.

IIRC the rate has been around $7 or 7.50 per oz the last few years. I usually have a handful of slotta bases and other bits to trade, so I don't pay much attention except to the final price. (And it's always more than I was planning 😄) IMO the melt table and metal trade option is one of the things that makes Reapercon different and special. Nobody else does that and it's always a major part of my con experience to shop at the factory.
