I have 2 questions from my hubby about ReaperCon:

First, for costume weapons, are there any particular rules about what is and isn't allowed?

Second, since we are staying there at the Convention Center Hilton, he's wondering if anyone will be playing games Wednesday evening? We aren't sure if we will be able to make it for the Meet and Greet yet (depends if I can get off work early or work til 6 that day) and thought maybe something would be going on after? Or is everyone sleeping early to be ready for the next day?

From experience, there are never official planned games on Wednesday. A lot of people are arriving, unpacking, setting up, and happy to see familiar faces for the regulars.

Now that doesn't mean there isn't any gaming, but it'll be the casual kind. And if the exhibition hall is already open, the pinball/arcade machines may already be up and running. But considering that the Meet and Greet is at Reaper HQ this time, I don't know how active the convention center will be that evening.

For the props there are two links.

For gaming any official gaming starts Thursday. After the meet and greet at past events there is usually groups doing casual gaming. If there isn’t you can always set up at a table to start a group, or make a thread before the con.

For those of you who are wondering what supplies to bring to the con, Rhonda Bender wrote a nice article:

"What do you need to bring to convention painting and sculpting classes? What will you want to have if you attend a paint club session or open painting at a convention? How do you make sure you have what you need, but don't pack too much?"

So my AL games are (kind of) up:

Thursday:

  • 12:00 pm - Ice Road Trackers
  • 7:00 pm - The Frozen North

Friday:

  • 3:00 pm - Gnashing Teeth

Saturday:

  • 11:00 am - Divining Evil
  • 4:00 pm - Cold Benevolence

Sunday:

  • 3:00 pm - A Blight in the Darkness

They're currently under the wrong DM name and should also be rated PG, but the MM organizer is working on hopefully correcting that. The Sunday game should also be Tier 2. Gonna be real bummed if I can't finally run my mod because people roll up with Tier 1 characters. 🙃

Thanks for posting this! My husband and I just signed up for your Sunday game earlier today, and he pointed out that it was Level 1, which I thought was wrong since it was number 5. I have characters ready for every tier, just in case, but I'm glad to hear that it is for Tier 2!

Also, what do you mean by your mod? And what do the different ratings mean for the games? Thanks!

Just got mine in yesterday.  It's a big box.  I may have gone a little over board this year.

No worries! The Sunday game is for levels 5-10 and the rest are 1-4. The ratings are for general content and don't have any solid definitions, but the series I'm running has a lot of horror themes so I want to avoid really little kids at the table if possible.

It's mine as in I wrote it! But, because of pandemic shenanigans and also just not playing AL as much as I used to, I haven't had the chance to actually DM the full mod before. 😅

Oh Wow! That's awesome! I think my husband is going to love this! We are actually just starting up Adventurer's League at our local comic book store in Burleson starting tomorrow, and my husband loves doing the Adventurer's League games. He's an incredible DM but loves learning from other DMs. I'm super excited for ReaperCon!
