GETTING TO KNOW YOU OCTOBER 2021

The rules as they currently stand ( we all know most of you rebellious lot will ignore most of it, but one can try)

1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question.

1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and post one...

2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
3. Questions are going to be posted between 8:00 hours and 12:00 hours CET. ( Central European Time)
4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to me...
5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why can be fun...unless TMI).
7. Weekend questions will usually take the form of two or three day quests, starting on Friday or Saturday.

All HAIL WOOF!

You can't make me do homework! Though you reminded me of the time in Grade 2 where we made a spooky dark Hallowe'en room, where people had to put their hands in eyeballs (peeled grapes) and witches' hair (cooked spaghetti).

Ever since I got the Lovecraftian Mythos inspired Necronomnomnom, I do!

But I won't be making it. Mostly on account that I'm out of town this weekend.

I typically make "road kill" chili for Halloween.  That started as a joke because I was making it with a mixture of venison, buffalo, and turkey, but now it's a game where the lucky diners get to guess what I put in it each year.

This year I want to try and find this cookie mix from Aldi:

Because the line "It's got eyes, too many eyes" brings back a lot of memories from gaming years ago.

Every year I make ghost cupcakes. This is the version I use: https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/sugar-ghost-cupcakes/

They actually look pretty close to the photo. It takes several days to make them. Day one is cupcakes with blue or green icing. Day two is make the body. I use store brand peanut mini cups and chocolate balls for the heads and glue them together with leftover icing and freeze them. Believe me, you want frozen stacks so they don't fall over. Day three is assembly. I make the blankets and drape them over everything else. I use a toothpick and poke holes for eyes and a mouth. The pumpkin is a jelly from the bulk store. Kids love 'em, but they are pure sugar! Adults usually throw out the blanket.

Nope, Nada, nuffin at all.  I will however tend to consume a variety of so called Halloween themed things... Does that count?

... Which reminds me, I owe hubby cupcakes.

None of my recipes have ever done anything remotely spooky.  They haven't even managed to haunt my kitchen.

Not really spooky, but I make a good pumkin chili, using real pumpkin that I roast myself and the usual assortment of pumpkin pie spices on top of the chili for heat.

I do not. The most creative I get with Halloween food is calling hotdogs Halloweenies. But that recipe also doubles for when I watch Star Wars and eat hotdogs, and thus have Tatooweenies. It's a versatile recipe.

I guess some people are spooked by what goes into hotdogs... so there.
