Minivember 2021

Every year I do this I say it'll be my last.

 

Well, I'm doing it again. Haven't thought of a good title for this one yet.

 

Currently working on a list of minis and a list of what I need to do so I don't forget and skip any prep.

 

Might paint a couple things to get back into the swing of things since I haven't painted in about a month. Calendar and pics of choices coming soon.

That's a good mix, some with lots of detail, some easier to paint.  I'll be watching to see how they come out. 

 

I've got most of mine picked out, got a few to wash and prep yet.  Have to sit down and identify all of them.

Are you all going to paint 1 mini a day for all of November?!?!  😱 🤯

 

Is that possible?  It stresses me out just thinking about it.  How much time do you typically spend on each one?

I'm going to do it a little different this year. I'm not going to worry about getting a mini done a day, but rather 30 minis done in the month. I'm going to try to get a chunk of my Darkspawn army done.

 

Rubegon, yes the goal is the get a mini done a day in November. It is possible, but very challenging. By the end of the month you are usually getting pretty good results very quickly, but you're tired of looking at minis. I'm going to do mine a little different to try to avoid that burnout.

I used to do a mini a day for it but now I, like @Humansquish, am just shooting for 30 in the month. I get all my prep (assembly, mold line removal, etc.)  done before November so that helps a lot.

This is a challenging project! So many different characters, hard to batch them for quick painting, you will probably go insane with the finishing and details if you are already not insane, which you probably are.

 It will be up soon,  I'm aiming for next week sometime.  I picked out some small terrain pieces as well as PCs and monsters.  

 

Also going to do 30 minis in 30 days rather than 1 per day.  I can paint most days, but some days I won't be able to at all.

Oh, definitely insane. This is my...4th or 5th nonconsecutive year I've done this. Always great fun.

Minis took an alcohol bath then a quick water rinse and now we wait until dry.

I am just now figuring out that the alcohol soaking for bones really improves priming and painting.

Yeah, I've only started using it too. Much better than bowls of soap and water and lots of scrubbing.
