Calculus

Presenting Calculus, she's an alchemist from the Alchemy Guild wielding some sort of alchemy flute, she was made by Steamforged Games as part of their discontinued Guild Ball range.

 

Not too happy with this one. Her face and hair came out okay, but it went downhill from there, couldn't even do a decent job taking piccys.

 

As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

I think she looks pretty good.

IMO....

The bright blue shirt stands out while the rest of your colors are earth tones. I think it draws attention away romt he rest of the piece, and the paler blue-green on the alchemical device clashes with it.   The hair looks good as-is, but is to close in color to the apron.  I would highlight one and darken the other. personally, I'd have gone with a more red-brown hair color, like her leather gloves and boots.  Just a wash of brown or reddish brown on her hair would bring it more into line with the other colors.

They say the face is the most important part of a mini and deserves the most attention. On that front you did a great job. 

 

I agree with Inarah that the colour swatches may clash somewhat; the top half works because it is cartoony and saturated, and the bottom half works because it's gritty and unsaturated, but together the top half will overpower the bottom half. 

 

I bet it looks great on the table though. 😊 I love the pants and the shading on her hair.

I think it looks great!  I wonder if something copper or blued steel like a cog or gear on the ground in front of her might the in the shirt more?  I'm also colour blind so take any colour advice I give with a chunk of salt.

Yeah, it looks like not planning out her colour scheme in advance didn't work this time. I have another version still to paint, so I'll try and apply the lessons learnt on this one to that one.
