Marc
Inserts? That’s unexpected … how does that work exactly?

Inserts I have used in the past [both printed and commercial] fit into a base with a raised lip to hold the insert. A really nice way to add a variety of base styles.
Sylverthorne
Hm. I think I want some of those to play with.
haldir
While the inserts are nice, they are kinda worthless to me as I don't use the Dark Age style base as it's too big for my needs. Thou if those are the same size as the Wizkids base, I may get em as I like that style. I just hate the clear bases they are going with their prepainteds now & eventually I'm sure will phase out the unpainted black ones as well.
Cyradis
Those look like nice useful bases. Cool if they fit into a lil' black disk like the Micro Art Studios ones do, but also cool if they stand on their own.

Maybe there will be straight edge bases the same size around these could be glued to the top of.

Well if they fit inside the Dark Age base (which I know Reaper has their own), then the inserts should be good to use with regular miniatures As it's the lip of those bases that make them over 1 inches. As I use my minis for D&D, standard size bases are what I use. I do glue my minis onto bases but anymore I just take the mini & glue atop a bare base, as it's quick & works + it gives all of my minis a standard looking base (really wish some of my players would glue one onto the bottom of their figs & not for look but due to they keep falling over....). So who knows. I guess I'll have to see what this KS holds for me.
Super Administrators Reaper_Jon Posted January 18, 2022 Super Administrators Share Posted January 18, 2022 Here are some test shots of Ryng's messing around with a few of the "Lava" style base toppers. As well as David Cecil messing around with some as well! 16

It's one of the key selling points of using SioCast SioResin - that and small batch manufacturing using similar techniques to traditional metal casting for creating the molds.
WhiteWulfe
I just wondered... Here's hoping the old "box of 100 bases" that was in a previous Kickstarter is also offered. I love the lipped bases, and buying a few boxes/cases and having a good amount on hand sure would be nice... Doubly so with various toppers coming in the Kickstarter.
