Came across this on bookeyface on the Reaper group:

These are designed to go on the 32mm Base Boss bases, which are slightly tapered. They are slightly bigger than a 32mm round lipped base, but slightly smaller than a 40mm. (Seen here)

I'm not so sure them now. A sampler would be nice before going all in on them.

Yeah, they were of interest but now that's gone down a fair bit if they're aiming for 32mm as their smallest, as way too many games use 25/40/55mm bases and are rather specific about the size they use.

Nice to see inserts for larger bases too, but oof on seeming to be aiming at the 32mm bases instead of 25.

The point of this kickstarter is to fill in the remaining gaps in our base line up! So the easier thing to do if you want a hint is to go look at the bases we offer right now and likely those are not in this KS.

Hint: looking at the list I have in front of me, 25 & 28 MM gaming bases. 🙂 But thats all I can say!

Here are some things I feel are missing from Reaper's line of bases:

Stylized 25mms would be nice for folks at the gaming table, for the sake of fitting on the 1in grid. But I use 32mm ones regularly anyway if they look better, and most of the time it isn't problematic. I usually do painting for shelf at least.

Speaking for myself (but I suspect this applies a great many people), I play games like D&D, and D&D (as well as Pathfinder, Starfinder etc.) is played on a 1” grid, so any base size that isn’t 25mm, 50mm, 100mm etc. is of zero use and/or interest to me.

If these bases (meaning any of the sculpted bases) are not going to be done in those pretty standard sizes, the KS will not hold much interest to me.

I think a poll so people can weigh in on this might be a good idea honestly …

Isn't Warhammer now 32mm? I know they jumped in base size (not sure when, maybe when AoS was introduced??? I don't keep up with GW products) at some time. Also, how big is the oval style base Reaper now uses for allot of figures going forward now?

When my schedule has no snufas in it, I run 2 weekly D&D games & I like having standard looking bases for my games whether it's a round Reaper base or a Wizkids style base, it's when the bases start going wonky on me is where I have a problem. The whole clear base that Wizkids uses is annoying as is the small base that Reaper currently has in their line up. I've never cared for the Dark Age style base.

I'll take a look at the KS when it comes out & I'll decide if it's for me or not. Currently I'm saying no, which would be a first for me when it came to a Reaper KS.

Yes.

Sort of.

Maybe.

Some of their figures they have upped the base size to 32mm, but some of them are still on 25mm bases. I have no idea if they intend to eventually transition everything to 32mm or not.

I want to see what's in the KS before I make any decisions.

A little more complicated. Some GW units like the Skitarii Rangers/Vanguard are on 25mm bases. Some like the new howling banshees and sister repentia are on 28mm bases. Some like the sisters of battle are on 32mm bases. And some like the Custodians are on 40mm bases.

The 28mm bases arent that far off from 25mm bases. In my pathfinder games I use 25mm bases for most npcs and minions and 30mm for PCs and boss enemies. They dont mess up playing on a grid unless your grid is super crowded.

I dont think I am interested in the base kickstarter, not because of the sizes but because the bases dont look that interesting to me. But i will definitely take a look at the KS once its live to see if anything interests me.

I keep telling myself to not buy more of anything.  My shelves and bins are full.  My to do stack is outrageous.   Yet, I love reaper.   I hate the idea of missing out and when I could "possibly need that thing" that they are going to sell.   I can't stop myself.

Bring on those bases so I can look, tell myself no,  then fold on myself and buy a bunch.
