Yeah, that's another good point. I mean, most Reaper minis come with their little terrain bases. (Some harder to remove than others.)

 

Random thought: Will Bones 6 include minis on bases that are practically base inserts? xD

The lack of any stretch goals kind of makes this a dud for me. Just nothing to really motivate me to buy bulk bases ahead of time, especially when Bones 6 is around the corner with more enticing offerings.

This is sort of what I'm feeling. I'm ok with the base inserts, I end up cutting a lot of my minis off the sculpted base and butting it on another, but there just isn't enough there for me to be that interested. Basing sprues of interesting little items would be really cool too, or maybe something like the green stuff rollers to shape clay bases. It's useful enough if you're looking to get your hand on more bases, but I'm still drowning in them from the core set bonuses and the last base boss ks.

Y’all, this is just to expand their range of bases to round out their offerings. Plus, they’re dipping their toe into textured bases to see what the interest is for that market. You won’t see mega stretch goals and a bunch of add-ons; that’s not the point of this KS. If you’re downbeat, save your moolah for Bones 6!!!

 

I’m in for $50 because I want some textured bases to go with the billions of bases I’ve acquired from Reapercons and tour visits to the factory.

I have to agree.  For how much feedback and desires people have provided (and how many times this has gone back to the drawing board), I'm hoping we see more than just the two inserts during the campaign. 

 

And a 70mm base, because Infinity is a fairly popular game.  With native inserts for ALL of their bases, none of this "oh you can just cut it or add to it" - no, if I'm doing that I might as well just roll my own bases, doubly so since a lot of tabletop games are extremely specific about the size of bases units should use. 

 

I'd love to commit more than $5 USD, but until there's something that thoroughly catches my attention it's $5 USD for now, and additions in PM later. 

 

 

I'm curious as to what the 65mm circular gaming bases are for, system wise. 

 

I'd love to see inserts for the new 100mm and 120mm bases, as well as even some of the larger ovals too, as they'd be handy for either a) especially large units or b) a basis to work with for dioramas.

I like that they finally made some base inserts.  I remember asking them the last time they were at Gencon why they were not making bones style base inserts.   I’m in for at least a few. Plus I am in need of a few giant scale bases.

I'll second this.  Hex inserts would be lovely!

Seeing that the inserts are on sprues, I feel like it's a pretty big miss not to have variations on the same sprue. As has been said, having the exact same terrain over and over to me is less desirable than having just plain goblin green + flocked bases on my army....

And depending on how they were done, and the variety available, hex inserts could double as mini Mighty Empire tiles.  

 

That was the first thing I thought of when they started previewing the small insert a few weeks back.  Seemed like too niche of a product to ask for hex inserts, but I didn't think about CAV bases.

We believe that creating variations of the existing sizes is a very good way to go.

With the structure of KS, we already have pledge level 30 choices. The addition of even 1 variation to each of the two styles would create an additional 20 pledge level choices. So, what we have in discussion on the table here is to create 2-3 variations of each with the pledge level receiving a random assortment. Thoughts?

 

We will create the FAQ tomorrow. Currently, the most common question is whether or not existing bases will make it into the pledge manager. Yes, the existing bases that match up with the offered insert sizes will be available in the pledge manager.

For the natural bases, I'd be inclined to agree about duplication,  but on the sci fi bases, it's not as big of a deal. Not to me, anyways. The deck of a starship is probably going to look the same everywhere. Minor changes should be easy enough to add, if desired.

Hmm - IF they do the hex bases right, with a fair variety and laid out so that one can make mini maps with them, I could be in for a bunch of those. 

Still disappointed that there aren't any additional RPG base options.
