More Classic Ral Partha Wood Elves, sculpted by Tom Meier

Hello Reapervites!

So here are three more Wood Elf figures, been working on a group of these and getting them finished little by little.

 

With them all, want them to be kind of the same but a little bit of variety, so tried to vary clothing colors and hair colors, but keeping it all in natural and autumn colors, browns, greens and oranges/yellows.  So anyhoos, here are three more:

 

 

Tried to some freehand that would tie in on the shield and banner.  My freehand is sometimes not the greatest, but oh well, give me something to want to learn better!

I like the freehand - it very much is in tune with the figures - an older time!

An older and clumsier time, but a time that some of us started being interested in minis!

I meant more that your freehand was straighforward and in the theme of fantasy from then 😉

I particularly like the color on the archer’s cloak.

 

You’ve gotten these from Ral Partha Legacy, I see…I hadn’t realized that they have added some of the goblins as well.

 

I didn’t own any of these elves BITD for some reason, although I was around then.  I acquired seven or eight blister packs of them in a store in the Los Angeles area on a business trip around 1990, but there were no archers, so I was glad when Iron Wind was finally convinced to dig into their mold archives and put them into production again.

 

 

Here a few vintage ones are standing off an attack by equally vintage goblins aided by a Prince August orc and a Ral Partha AD&D Cyclops-kin in 2013…

Yup, trying to get them all painted up for their catalogue! I've got the rest of the elves as well, trying to get through them all before the end of the year!

 

Trying to remember, I think I started out using Camouflage green for the archer's cloak and then some browns, deeper greens for shading and I think I went up to lemon yellow with the highlights, or maybe white, I don't even remember any more.

 

Great photo of those old school minis!  I hope to get some of their goblins as well some day.
