Topic Adult Beverages, Pick One:

Name one you have never tried, or, one you usually order, or, one you never will try.

I'm a completionist, so I'll answer all of them.

1)  I'm pretty sure I've never had a Bloody Mary.

2) RUM!

3) I'm also a sailor,  so I wont turn down any drink that someone else is paying for. ::P:

There isn't any drink that I won't try at least once. There are a fair number that I won't have AGAIN, though.

1) way too many to list, like any whisky over $20 a glass.
2) Strongbow or Jameson's, depending on if I'm worried about my blood sugar that day or not.
3) anything with tomato juice or clam juice in it, let alone both.

  1. I don't think I've ever tried tequila straight. As an ingredient sure, but never as is. It's not exactly a go to drink around here.
  2. Coffee. Seriously, I rarely drink when I'm out. If I get a free beverage during a reception, it may be beer or wine depending on the event.
  3. If I could drink Kumis (fermented mare's milk while visiting Mongolia), then I'm probably willing to try any serious drink. Beware of giggling little girls! I've lost count of the number of times during my niece's tea parties where she magically changed the tasty ethereal beverage I was savouring to "pee".

Many I've never tried. I don't drink anymore due to medication interference, used to just order beer (Warsteiner was a favorite) or a whiskey sour. I won't drink anything with gin (some say it tastes like Christmas in a glass, I say it's like drinking the actual tree).

I haven’t tried most of them.

I hardly ever order an alcoholic beverage, but if I do I try to find one that I can’t taste the booze in.

I will most likely never try most of them.

Never Tried : I tried the most common drinks, there are probably some out there that I'm not aware of, willing to try when presented.

One I usually Order: Red Wine or when really going for it, Whiskey or Rum.

One I'll never try: Milk...

I have tried quite a lot of different forms of alcohol, but I don't do that anymore; re, I am over my lifetime quota.

Never tried: rum and whiskey

Usually order: chocolate milk.

Never will try: rum, rye, or whiskey.  I prefer to have keep breathing and have a pulse.

Hey, chocolate milk is totally an adult drink!   Or strawberry, or banana... Don't get the cookies and cream or Oreo ones though, those taste weiiiiird.

Actual adult drink: double strength vodka strawberry dacquiri, although I really really like Vanilla or Chocolate mudslides.  Porn Star mixers are pretty good too, assuming I'm remembering the correct name for the long drink (1.5 Oz red sourpuss, 1.5 Oz blue Curaçao, and 4 Oz of 7-Up).  Not a fan of the shooter version (no 7-Up)

ONE I'VE NEVER TRIED: Generally, the weirder ones that involve extensive preparation. The Seven-Layer Pousse-Cafe, for example; I've tried that, and it looks more impressive than it tastes. I've never tried an Alien Brain Hemmorhage.

USUALLY ORDER: Rum. Picked up a taste for it from my parents, eventually got to like Captain Morgan's, and nowadays, I'm a Kraken fan.

WILL NEVER ORDER: Tequila. I realize it makes no sense, physiologically or chemically, but I cannot hold my tequila. I can drink half a bottle of rum and be drunk, and I don't black out, and don't even have much of a hangover... but a single shot of tequila affects me the way a full moon affects a werewolf. Sort of. In the sense that I wake up in an unfamiliar place, don't know where my car or shoes are, and I wind up in a number of awkward and/or embarrassing conversations about what I did that night...

And no, not a SINGLE shot. But for some reason, that first shot always seems to want four or five more to come keep it company...

If facebook just went away, ceased, stopped, and never came back up; would you be OK with that ~OR~ lost without the fb?

I would be overcome with glee.... and then sad for everyone who is upset and loses connections

PSA: Today is the Open Enrollment signup deadline for many people in the USA; have you got your healthcare sorted for next year?

Mine and F1 generation yes - and now my father's. I experienced the true horror of healthcare when he became ill, called me from the hosipital, and it turned out he had let his is Medicare lapse. If you are over 65 and don't have Medicare you are screwed - even with private insurance. I couldn't get him into a nursing home, even if I offered to pay a lot of money up front. And I couldn't get anyone to come to his trailer with the private insurance I got. And I live 400 miles away.... And I'm a relatively privalged person with a job and internet and some knowledge..... so it must be so much worse for others.

So - be - sure - to - be - in - the - system. Or you're bascially screwed.

1. I've never tried jello or cake shots. At least not that I can remember. Seems like the whole point of those is to drink them when you're well past the point of making good decisions.

2. Beer.

3. I'll never try Goldschlagger. I have no desire to line my insides, or eventually my poo, with gold flakes.

The rules: as they were last month (in addition to all regular forum rules) except where I sneakily changed them:

      1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question. †
1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day, a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and post one... ††
      2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
      3. Questions are going to be posted sometime before 1 AM Reaper time (US Central).
      4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to Talespinner or Morihalda…
      5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
      6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why can be fun...unless TMI).
      7. Weekend questions may take the form of two or three day quests, starting on Friday or Saturday.
      8. Pix always welcome.

The first question will need to be posted after a brief (10 minute) pause to foil the merging of posts.
The footnotes, because I can't resist doing †††footnotes:

      † I will aim for 0600 Reaper/Nottingham time.
††  If subs and backstops could wait until 11AM in Reaper/Denton's timezone to see if I remember.
      ††† …because I re-remembered how to do the dagger ( † ) symbol.
