Randomness XVIII: Ex-Vee-Triple-Eye

Recommended Posts

Good night at the game store. Party got clobbered a few times (tier 2, so levels 5 thru 10) thou. Most of the party is around 7th level (or at least before tonight's level up). Sadly one of our newer, younger players (thou she is over 18) got disentregrated by a undead beholder's ray. She took it well thou. The break gave her time to grab a 2nd pregen & it was a monk.

The news for me is, I will be starting a "Ghosts of Saltmarsh" campaign on August 4th & it'll run for 2 months or at least the initial sign ups will run for 2 months. So players will now have the option of a discounted (20 bucks for 2 months of game time) campaign style game or weekly Adventure League style games (at 10 bucks a week). AL does give store points & the campaign one won't. I picked the 4th as it was the first week in August & figured that was a good day to start the game. I do see I will miss the 1st week in September as that is travel/Meat n Greet for some "small" Con in Denton (I can't recall the name right now.....). .

I'm excited for it. GoS was the one adventure I went heavy into & picked up a Beadle & Grimm Silver box set so I'm happy to be running that one finally. I don't think I'll go all out for minis this time around thou. I think I'll use pawn bases & if a important encounter or NPC comes up then yes that will get a mini. Travel & having a Saturday game, just is a bit much to try & keep up with minis.

I think with me only be around for 2 more weeks worth of AL adventure it's time I bring back my artificer & his clockwork squirrel guardian!! I know there are a couple players that are happy for that one. ::D:

One with a phonebook attached, no less!

Ah, but the golden treasure would be an actual phonebook inside that cover... :poke:

6hr drive Sunday, 7 hr drive Monday, 2hr drive Tuesday, 7 hr drive today, 6hr drive tomorrow I think forgot something in there cause I end up back where I started...

So for anyone trying to work it out, that was a touch over 2400km, or 1500mi, in the last 5 days, or the equivalent of northern coast of scotland to south of england and back again...

There was a reason for it, but what happens there is dependent on a few answers we're waiting on

Got up this morning, rolled out of bed, started going through he morning ritual.  I was pouring the hot water in the coffee press when I realized that my back pain was down to something only slightly above the normal background radiation levels, so huzzah! Almost back to normal!

It's utter rubbish. I'd sacrifice at least one painted dragon for a day without pain at the moment.

Trust me, you are not alone in that sentiment here.

::(:

Sad that the both of you are feeling horribad.

Russia is not part of Europe, though.

What is it with back pain this week? It is catching? I feel like crap this morning and had a hard time getting to sleep last night because of it.  My sympathies to those of you who have this regularly.

In our current year, that is debatable, and probably better to consider it Eurasian (bulk of the land is in Asia yet sparsely populated, bulk of the population is in Europe). It also depends on the oft-debated boundary of where Europe and Asia begins. Also, that event took place in 1741. I can't say for certain, but I would hazard to guess that back then Russia considered itself European (Eastern, probably not Western European), despite its sizeable expansion into Asia.

Here's a good pic:

Not enough gravy on that, IMO.  There's a tenderized slab of cheap steak inside a crispy fried coating.  Usually milk based gravy, can sometimes have sausage in it but that is usually reserved for breakfast biscuits.  Typically a dinner meal is just white gravy with pepper.  A side of mashed potatoes is a must, but in some places you can get it with fries. And fries with white gravy are a special heaven.   Have to warn you that this dish is neither low calorie nor low carb, not heart friendly, or good for your waistline, but you won't leave the table hungry either.

This is an unacceptable amount of gravy. :grr:

I got some more demons from an order. I got a Ral Partha succubus that actually looks monstrous. I like it. Of course, there's two other "succubi" that are just naked ladies half covered with a blanket.

And now I'm going to order a chicken fried steak.

Ugh. This week is going so slow...

I don't even have dumb or frustrating customer stories today.

I did get offered a decent job yesterday. Declined it, but was told it was always open to me - so at least I have a backup if things go south on my contract.
