I don’t understand why doctors only give you 5 days worth of antibiotics nowadays. It always used to be a 10 day course, and whatever it was would be gone for good. Anytime they give me 5 days I have to call them and ask for more because I’m still sick after 5 days.

So I waited to reply to Wallyworld in regards to my missing mower package after the original date of the 21st. I figured that was the original date I was sent vs the early arrival that I got last Saturday. Nothing has shown up, so I got ahold of a rep using the protocols & I just got off an online chat window & I'll have the replacement package get here on the 30th. I work that morning, but hopefully I won't be tired when I home that morning, so I can stay up & wait for the driver this time around. Gotta admit, it was a effortless & quick, regardless of the rep of Wallyworld gets, as least they understood the situation.

Good night at the FLGS last night, we didn't have a full table but we had enough (5 vs 7) to enjoy the adventure which had some hard hitting encounters due to we had 2 10th levels, 2 9th & 1 8th level. My character shined again, I love my artificer!! Probably be awhile till I get to play him again, as next week we are dropping back down to Tier 1 stuff & it'll be my last week as a player for a bit. I'm sad & excited at the same time. I love gaming at my FLGS!

I wish my experience with them was the same...  Order three products, they ship two.  They come in, they don't match the listing.  Bring them in to return them, get them to cancel the third one (which took a week to be credited for) aaaand a month later  I've had to file a PayPal dispute to get the $24.49 they still owe me.

Tbh, I was kinda surprised to see how well it went. I told em, I didn't get any physical notification from the driver & when I did notice the email alert it was hours after it was supposedly delivered, that day + I wasn't expecting a package vs the original date (17th vs 21). Granted I'm not real happy with the new ship date, but I think I'd rather have it that day then most of the days in the week just due to the way my days are these days.

I also told them it wasn't their fault, as I placed the blame more on FedEx & that lack of courtesy (thou I'm thinking more & more it's policy that none of them ring the bell these days.) At least Amazon take a photo of the product where they leave it.

I went to Subway today! I went inside to order food! I haven't done that in over a year! Anywhere! I got chips off the rack! A drink out of the cooler! I touched things! Ah!

I always smile & laugh when I hear things like this. I don't think I ever stopped going to places to get food or whatnot. I've never done a Zoom call either. I guess one of the perks of having a physical job that can't be done at home.

Griped a bit about this in the unofficial Discord but I feel the need to gripe a bit more. Spoiled if you don't want to hear it.

Spoiler

I am working on my swatch books again. Right now I am just grid-ing and filling out names of paints, have not put any actual paint down yet.

My problem is with Bones paints specifically. After the SKU 09508 the Bones SKU's just changes to 29XXX. IDK why they did that since that was how they did the HD paints. Like they can do that but I'll be damned if it doesn't mess with my OCD like nothing else recently. I'm sure there is a good reason for it but...GAH.

Anyway, aside from that things are going as smoothly as possible. Our 9th wedding anniversary is next Wednesday. We are going out for dinner on Monday because Wednesday happens to be the same day I get my migraine shot. So I will be pretty out of it for the day. If I don't do it early in the day I get anxious to the point of almost being sick. I had to order a dress and shoes since the one dress I love does not fit me anymore and the shoes I'd worn are also too small. So it should all be here by Saturday.

I have only been to sit within a restaurant once since March 13, 2020. I went for my birthday in July last year when cases were super low, and we were the only ones there. I have done take-out a lot though, to the point that the sushi place across the street knows me by name and what I like.

My work group is finally having a lunch together next week, after my post dose 2 massage. We've been waiting until we're vaccinated; we'll all be either dose 2 fully, dose 2 ramp-up time, or about to get dose 2, and none of us have been party animals. It'll be nice to have an actual group meeting and food. That'll be my first time dining at a restaurant in a year, and with other people around, longer than that.

Should the lizard come with me as the new research mascot... hmm....

Honestly, some of my drive to stay at home more than required was knowing there are folks like you without that option. It would take some burden off folks with jobs that can't be at home, since we would be lower infection risk, and we wouldn't then bring it to others on the limited necessary tasks.

Holy cow is it nice to have the office/lab option again though.

Interesting day at work today. Thought I'd share some pictures of it.

There were nice wetlands.

And crappy degraded wetlands.

There were tiny lakes.

And there were great lakes (that thin line of turquoise between sand and sky).

And, oddly enough, there were some neat sand sculptures.

My favorite, Calvin and Hobbes hugging it out.

Well, I just caused a huge uproar at the company I contract to.   Spoilered the rant...

Spoiler

Dispatcher asks me this morning if I can take an "easy call" for a Canadian site - they can't remotely connect.  I wasn't busy, so sure.  Takes me less than five minutes to diagnose that the credit card system isn't connected to the internet any more, so it's more than not just being able to connect remotely, it's also literally not accepting credit cards.  Try various things with the woman I'm talking to, but it takes me less than five minutes to realize she has no idea what I'm talking about or how to identify anything. She's one of those "Ritual Users" GEM talked about. After 10 minutes, I advise her to get someone out to site who can troubleshoot it.

Couple hours later, her boss, the manager, calls me.  Takes about 10 minutes to figure out that the boss is a) less capable of troubleshooting than her employee is and b) not even on site.  I tell her the same thing I told the employee - get someone on site who can troubleshoot.  She says she'll call the owner.

Couple hours later, I get a call from the owner. He's on site, but he's gone down a rabbit hole of "fixes" that have nothing to do with anything.  At one point, he can't find the keys for a cabinet that you open up with a screw driver. Takes me about 10 minutes to realize he's another ritual user. All he wants to do is unplug things one at a time and plug them back in to see if that fixes things.

It's one way to do it, but given that there are well over 60 connections of various different types (electrical, network, system comms, so on), it also carries a huge risk of making the problem worse, along with taking longer.   Finally tell him to either pony up up a Credit card number to continue, or call someone from a local IT company or his Car Wash distributor to come to site.

He hangs up from me, and calls up the salesman, who immediately runs to the new service tech.  The salesman tells the new tech to do a video call with the site with the tech's cell phone, knowing full well that this means giving the site the tech's cell phone number.  The tech was able to finally get them to reset things because of the video call.

Now I'm being yelled at because "it was a simple thing and you didn't help them. Why didn't you think of doing video?"  Um, because I don't want some dip broccoli who can't tell the difference between a keyhole and a plain screw driver slot calling me at 8 or 9 pm because he doesn't know how to do something simple.  And yes, it was simple. It was so simple that he should have been able to do it without the need for video.  And now this dip broccoli has our new tech's cell phone contact info. I'm betting it won't be a month before the new tech is complaining about this guy calling him direct.

I hear a good way to deal with this is to put up visible cameras and/or a "smile, you're on camera" sign.
