kristof65
Man, the scammers are really blowing it today. Just received one of those extortion attempts where they claim to have caught me watching porn on camera and are demanding $1000 in bitcoin. This guy forgot to copy & paste his bitcoin wallet address into the email.
redambrosia
Well, I went to see a doctor, got a nurse practitioner who decided within a minute that I had covid. She prescribed me an antibiotic (for some dumb reason) and a steroid. I only filled the steroid. And she suggested I take a covid test. So I got one of these self tests that you can take at home. Huge surprise, it’s negative. If she had listened to me she would have heard that I’ve recently been exposed to babies that had RSV, I have asthma, and had been exposed to the smokey air. But god forbid a medical practitioner actual listen to their patients. 😑 3

My wife & daughter are but both have protectors. They are designed by city people for use in the city environment. They just don't have the built in level of protection for the interior components necessary for the rough and tumble some of us deal with as a daily matter. Rob Dean
Yay! I put paint on miniatures today! (What hobbying I have accomplished this month has been scenery, which is good too). What’s more they were figures 7 and 8 for an eight figure stand, so I can finally move them on to the basing phase. 13

GEM Yup, I managed to kill several cell/smartphones while working. The strangest one was I had tucked it under my kevlar vest on a 90+degree day and sweated so much I actually killed it from the moisture! 5 5

GEM [Looks at 8 year old Nokia Lumia 920] Still scratch free. Then again... Nokia. Being a Windows phone, it hasn't been supported in years, but the thing won't die.
Kangaroorex
some of us Urbanites can destroy smartphones too! there was one period when i was doing a lot of installations, and i must have gone through 4 of them in a year. On the last one they demanded i send it back for evaluation. I had accidently dropped it in a sample catchpan and it was covered in glue. I was busy so i put it on a stair above me hoping it would drip off and i could clean off the remainder. then a tech came down the stairs steped on it, felt it stick and stomped and scraped it until it came off. It took me 20 minutes to find all the pieces which i dutifully sent back to IT. 3 days later I get this brick encased in an otterbox with a note 'please stop that' stuck to the box. the phone did last 3 years but i looked really silly using it in a conference room... 3

Pegazus
I smacked my funny bone so hard I had to lay down for five minutes with my legs elevated. It’s taken about a half hour to regain feeling in my pinky. 1 1
Green Eyed Monsty
If you don't want to read my rant against a deadbeat insurance company, don't go to the spoilered text. Spoiler I'm supposed to get a Disability check every 14 days from the Yellow Bannered Insurance Company that uses the Statue of Liberty, an Emu, and Wet Teddy Bears as advertising gimmicks. As of today I am declaring them DEADBEATS as they are now 28 days in arrears on my meager disability payments. They wouldn't be standing for it if I were two payments late on paying for their cheesy insurance products, so why should I put up with this abuse when they are on the paying out end? I feel slightly better for getting that off my chest. If you are so inclined, share this with your friends. One more reason why I won't be able to attend Reapercon this year. GEM What lame excuse are they giving? Did they declare you mechanically totaled out and full payment applied? You are getting to the point where spare parts are getting hard to find. 1
Green Eyed Monsty
On a different note. We are getting so much smoke from the Dixie Fire that visibility is down to less than half a mile. I'm getting a whiff of smoke every so often inside the house. My eyes are itchy and it's irritating my already worse than normal headache which was already borderline migraine from having gone to a movie on Sunday.
SparrowMarie
Husband is napping. I'm tempted to go downstairs and do the same but I know as soon as I crawl in bed he'll wake up. So I'm up here doing RCL prep. I also added 4? other projects to hopefully finish by mid/end of September so I get RCL points. I got roped into doing a Halloween gift exchange with some friends. I decided to paint the Overgourd and send it to recipient. It seems appropriate. Hopefully, they like it.
