Uh huh.

Lots of "alternative culture" people attend.

You get a lot of the silicon valley types with more money than actual functioning brain cells too.

Burning Man never sounded like my kind of place. Based upon the list of people who tout it each year, it's not my scene. I am pretty sure that if I cross south of a particular latitude I will become a burning man due to sun exposure, so the desert is out. As it is I slather sunblock on myself like the vampires in the first Blade movie.

I read the books for "Planets of the UFP" and the adventure book. I rather like the idea of re-visiting worlds visited during early TNG just before (and perhaps during) the Dominion War. I mean, that's what the Enterprise-E was doing right? Couldn't risk the ol' flagship of Starfleet during the largest confrontation the Federation had faced in its history, right? <_<

Personally, I blame Rick Berman.

Now, to work out a timeline so I can figure how to include the Cardassian/Klingon conflict and then the Federation/Klingon kind-of war...

And figure out how to prevent my players from making this into Lower Decks. Not because I don't like it (I've been watching bits and pieces on YouTube) but because I can't be that funny.

It's been a weekend for strange and irritating dreams. My high point so far was the one that included having to evade escaped dinosaurs while trying to carry a box of kittens across town. That wasn't so bad until the dream morphed on me and joined the others since Friday that have been feeding fodder for the brain weasels. Mostly centering around certain events 25 years ago that were more or less a high point themselves and the inevitable comparison to now, along with detailed analysis of how things got from there to here and a highly spirited internal debate as to how much of that decline I could have prevented if I had had the proper knowledge then...and the realization that the honest answer is not any where near as much as I like to think.

I have managed to somehow twist off one of the temples/arms of my glasses' frames. This is not a joyous occasion.

I didn't know they were called arms or temples until now!

I hope all of you have or have had a better start to the day than this!

The former owners of the pagan retreat Grump and I attend tried to become a mini Maine Burning Man one year, and almost went bankrupt.

They lost more than half the attendees. It went from a family event to Adults Only, without replacing the families.

That was the year I started the Great Grump Hunt. ::P:

In my mind, I picture this going exactly like the Wild Hunt of legend.

I am at my mom's for a few days. I think this is the closest thing I'm going to get as a vacation for...probably a long time. My sleep is always super chaotic when I visit. Mom and Sibling sleep almost opposite hours so trying to spend time with both is difficult. Was up until like 1:30 this morning, took a nap and got up around 3:30. Was up until 10 then took a half hour nap and feel fine for now. We'll see how I feel by the time Wednesday comes around.

So, this is what it feels like to get a full night's sleep.

(I averaged about 5 hours of sleep per night at Reapercon)

NO REGRETS!

Past experience showed me that the levels of fun at ReaperCon are well worth the levels of accumulated fatigue.

It's also why I now give myself an extra day off before going back to work.
