Randomness XVIII: Ex-Vee-Triple-Eye

Recommended Posts

The La Palma eruption is still ongoing, (and finally seeing mainstream news coverage), and given the steady 19 cm ground deformation, there looks to still be plenty of pressure beneath it.

Although Mount Fagradalsfjall in Iceland took an 8 day break, it is now the longest eruption Iceland has seen in 50 years. (oddly it resumed just as the earthquake swarms were kicking into high gear in La Palma)

Feeling neglected of attention, Semispochnoi on Unyak Island, in the Rat Island chain of the Aleutian Islands of Alaska, decided to start spewing out a giant ash cloud in a major eruption earlier today. So far the ash plumes have reached a height of 15,000 feet at the highest point and extend approximately 60 miles to the South East of the volcano. There are already two other volcanoes erupting in Alaska at this time as well.

I am beginning to wonder if my attempts to harness the elemental forces of Earth and Fire into my cheeseburgers a few weeks ago had some unintended side effects...oh, and on a somewhat related note, if the thunderstorm I'm currently enjoying sticks around til morning, I'll probably be whipping up another Thunder Beef Unseelie Infused marinade*. I don't think the combination of Air and Water is going to spark off a mega tsunami, the original batch didn't show quite that level of force....but given my track record this year, anyone on the East coast may want to visit relatives and friends in the Midwest for a few days....

* I need to ensure that I have a supply of Thunder Beef on hand for the winter months in order to experiment on it's effects in summoning blizzards. If I can get it to where I can cause snow days at whim then I can orchestrate a bidding war between the school kids who want snow days vs just about everyone else....

Taking a day off tomorrow.

I need to make some repairs, there are some windows from the canopy that leak.

This is situated over the concrete stairs leading to the outer cellar.

Probably the rubbers/sealants.

I have used a watering can to pinpoint the issue. Found two that let water through so far.

Hope I can fix it myself with special anti leakage sealant.

Kinda annoying I hate this kind of work since I'm not that much of a handyman.

I'm beginning to think that your house has decided that it's purpose in life is to turn you into one. Try to look at it as 1:1 scale terrain modelling. I mean you've already achieved a victory few can brag about when you defeated the gazebo, this task pales in comparison to that.

Huh. I didn't realize I'm as old as Mario.

I'm...not sure if that makes me feel old or not.

How do you think it makes those of us who are older than Mario feel? ;)

Yep, he just seems to be having so much fun making his vids that they're infectiously cheerful.

I think this is pretty  much the same reason I follow his videos too.

You might be right, I've made a little list of things to do, since this is a leakage it has priority.

I also made a little list of things I already did in this house, it helps me to see that I CAN do stuff.

Still...it's not my hobby and it never will be..

I hope I have found the spot and that it will be solved like this.

And then on to the next project...

Your handyman skills are improving with every successfully completed home repair project.
