So, my brother checks my dad’s bank account and there’s a hold on it for $99,999,999,999.99.

Whatever that hold is for, it better be really nice. Like, I want a spaceship.

Does he have serious blackmail dirt on Bezos? *whistles* That's a lot of commas.

Oh, it’s a credit, not a debit.

I'm confuzzled, but I admittedly have the most basic understanding of financial terms, i.e. what I need to know from my own bank account. Credit, to my mind, usually means money going in, while debit means money going out. Which I know probably doesn't jive with actual usage of those terms by accountants.

I tried to read an article explaining double-entry bookkeeping, but fell asleep after about 3 paragraphs. There's a reason I did science... and watched with great jealousy as the business school was closed on Fridays as I frantically tried to finish up physics homework that was due by 5pm that day.

Yeah, you got it backwards. Debit means deposit, credit means with withdraw.

Beats a negative amount on hold.

I had one time a purchase for like 4,000 dollars with the Apple store. When I went up there to dispute the charge I flat out told the teller. "Ma'am I despise Apple products with a hatred reserved for the gods of old." & it made her laugh & she got the ball rolling for a fraud charge going.

So, update on the 100 billion hold: it’s a hold put on the account by the government on account of his death. My brother is investigating it further, but it’ll have to wait until Monday.

I guess we won’t be getting a space ship 😩

Not until the government gets their "cut" of circa half.

A friend told me I was worrying too much. He said that I poured two water canisters over it on that one spot and that that doesn't compare to normal rain.

How much heavy snowfall do you usually get? Most of the time rain is only a problem when it either comes down in gigantic amount or at the proper angle to worm it's way it's way in. Snow and ice build up on the other hand, as I learned last year, is an absolute elf. Right now I've got to get the flat garage roof re tarred, and get the sealant down over the angle in the roof over the living room, hopefully I can get to this in the upcoming week.

Well, darn. Found out today that I'd been at an exposure site four days ago. Suddenly it clicked - my arm had been sore for the last two days. The same arm and area where I'd had my vaccination. I'm hoping that was an indication that the vaccination was doing its job. But I've had a test and I'm quarantined until the results come back (at least).

The test came back negative. Yay!!!
