Taken right before said paw nudges object on to floor........

I need to decide if I wanna use Overgourd or Rotpatch (#3377) as my big creature in my Halloween theme adventure next month for my guys at the FLGS. Both are very cool minis & I have both, so a choice must be a made!

I could maybe** do the thing.
…should we use the old thread or start a new one? The old one was pinned.

Pins can be tweaked, if we've got a mod handy to tweak 'em.

Well, my wife & daughter left for their way overdue outdoor concert over in Bend, OR this morning. Seeing that it's almost 4 here, I'd say they should be there. As it only takes about 5 hrs + you've got the hour back time change. My wife really needed this one & considering it was for July of 2020, yah in a big way. That leaves my son & I by ourselves till Friday or Saturday (she wasn't sure what day they'd come home, concert is on Thurs, but there is a 2nd on Fri, so she may stay for a "free one" outdoor venue & it's wide open, so you can at least hear the music from the shopping center across the Deschutes River).

While they are gone, I'm hopin to finally get around to putting together a computer desk I ordered in June, but we shall see. Currently eating pizza from the Hut & deciding if I wanna go through the hassle of finding all the minis I need for tomorrow's FLGS Saltmarsh game. I've been using just bases but with my stick'em numbers on them to ID them for combat. It's convenient & quick to put to the table. I know for sure the main protagonist of the adventure will be a mini + it has been nice just to throw the bag of bases into my bag & not have to worry about the mini case. I have been looking into paper miniatures thou. I've used em before & they were nice.

As far as work, I'm hoping for a similar load tonight, like it was on Sunday. It actually came early (a little after midnight & it was smaller the usual) so I was able to get out a little after what I was scheduled.

Well other then a couple of large wolf spiders (ie medium based spiders) & the main protagonist, everything for tomorrow's game will be a paper mini. Surprisingly, I was able to find everything that was needed. I'm also running the land encounter (bullywugs) from Danger at Dunwater for the trip back to Saltmarsh from the lizardfolk caves. Figured nice way to include that encounter as well + found a great Bullywug Royal figure today. She is a bullywug dressed up as Marie Antoinette & such. Hopefully my players get a kick of her as I did.

I'm not expecting us to get through the entire adventure tomorrow as again we only play for 3 hrs. If we don't I may change my mind later in regards to regular minis.

The Saga of The Well continues.

The brush clearing is going to start this party, because we need the access road cleared of Tree, and thus might as well deal with the Snag before it falls on something important, and the maple that appears to be dead as of this year. So, that'll be fun. But it'll get scheduled, and then dealt with, and it'll be one less thing to worry about. Also, we can move all the vehicles, as needed.

I believe I mentioned the /complete lack of permits/ involved with this property? Yuh. So, we don't need an engineer. The engineer backed away, making warding signs. No, we need a whole Septic Designer to check this setup, make sure it's correct and get records of where things are. And quite possibly tell us to yoink and move some of them (in the case of the septic tank, I'd be fine with that; I don't like it where it currently is anyway; it's all too possible to accidentally dump a car in it). *grumble* That might end with holes punched in the fence and Interesting Things done to the front yard. *sigh*

And, it's raining. I approve! But it's going to make the drilling and whatnot Very Interesting.

I would go for the Overgourd, purely for visual impact. Rotpatch is an awesome mini but wouldn't illicit the same squeak of panic from your players when you thump him into the table.

I have now had to put two new holes in my first floor ceiling. First hole was a long time coming as the kids’ shower leaked and damaged the drywall. Figured I would test the odds on seeing the second leak a few feet away.

Rolled a one.

Second hole three feet away revealed the issue. Master bedroom toilet. Got a small flapper problem in that it leaks a very little bit. And that leak seems to be leaking out the sewage pipe into the ceiling above the downstairs half bath.

I am hoping it’s simply the wax seal needs replaced and not something to do with the actual pipe.

So my weekend has been planned for me.

Tip given to me decades ago by a professional plumber.  When you are replacing the wax ring, use two rings.  The logic is that it is better to have extra wax than not enough/just enough which can be the situation if there has been any settling of the floor or waste pipe since the original installation.

Good Luck and wishing you a smooth job.

Addendum:  Have plastic bags ready to hand.  At least one to put stuff in, such as the removed wax seal, the used rubber gloves, and any other "stuff", and another large bag to put the stool on while working with the connection/floor flange.  Have as much ventilation as possible and you might want to have a can of Lysol or similar handy just to "freshen up" the work area.

I was just looking up the name of the actress who played Ivanova on Babylon 5 (spotted her on an episode of 911) and found an article about the series:

'Babylon 5' reboot in development with original series creator J. Michael Straczynski at the helm

Not sure you can capture lightning in a bottle twice, but I guess Michael would like to try.

I do not know how I feel about this.  I know B5 was a little uneven in parts, but it was (overall) far better than so many shows.  It going to the CW does not inspire confidence...I say that a little unfairly as I don't think I've ever watched anything on CW.  But, then again, that's how their shows have motivated me (to go away).  Still, if anyone can do it JMS can.

I'd prefer a continuation, but I'll take what I can get.

But no new G'Kar.  Not ever.

They've had some good shows before... I mean, nothing really in the past 2-3 years has really been "Wow!", but it could happen. As much as I mocked the idea of Arrow (because I, too, didn't give the CW a chance without ever watching it) once I actually sat and watched some of the show I binged several seasons that were quite good. Flash was good too for a bit (seriously, will he ever learn to stop screwing with time?).

The CW's buying into the trend of rebooting shows, and that makes me sad. Someone is due to make another vampire TV series at some point, I'm banking on the CW being it.
