This sounds like cursed land. Like, someone did something terrible there long ago and the land remembers. And is quite angry about it.

I made a second Reaper order and they shipped it via UPS. I really wish there was a way to say "I'll pay more, just don't ship it UPS." I have no problem with them as a company, I just hate how they don't deliver on weekends and they love dumping things in front of my place because they can't used the package storage things that USPS. And, you know, I like the USPS being around, so I prefer money go to them.

With the talk of Halloween games, I really wish I could run a Deadlands game for the holiday. However, the people I would play with would be high risk or have family members who are, and Discord will NEVER be able to handle the rules. Maybe I'll see if I can get together with a friend and play Dracula's America, as it's "close enough" for me.

So, 90% of the US? Sounds about right... >.>

I'm.. fairly sure something can be worked out; something usually can. One just has to know which ritual to perform. >.>

Roll20 can handle it. There are character sheet templates in the system and you can buy rulebooks and modules if you don't already have them.

I've played other Savage Worlds games on Roll20 and it works really well.  Like, drawing initiative is one click, and there's a "next" button that lets you cycle through easily.  Even if you don't set up much in the way of maps and just use it for tracking cards, die rolls, and bennies it's fantastic.

Huzzah!

Considering how short-staffed the whole continent keeps saying it is, I hope you find something to your liking quickly.

So my wife, who also works outdoors, and I do this little thing where we take pictures of weird, cool, or funny stuff we find in the field and then compare them to see who "wins" best picture for that day. Today I thought for certain I'd have the best pictures with these...

First a funny picture of me covered in beggar ticks after wading through a field of different Bidens species:

And then this cool picture of a moss and lichen covered log with a mushroom growing out of it:

But no, she definitely won with this picture:

That's a picture of the back of her work van. Normally there wouldn't be a cat there. At their first site for the day they left the door open while they waded into a river and grabbed their samples. Jumped back in and half way to the next site they heard meowing from the back. Pull over and sure enough they'd picked up a hitchhiker at their first stop. They went back to the farm they had been working at and the owner said they'd never seen that cat, but that people dump strays on their road all the time (long and lonely country road with only one house makes a perfect place for jerks to dump pets I guess). So they took her with them. Luckily my wife's coworker has been wanting a cat. So this little thing is getting a new home tonight! Anyways, she wins today's round because that was completely unexpected.

Cheers all. And as always, get yourself outside!

Why would someone dump such a beautiful kitty? So glad that the wee thing is now in a home that deserves them.

In other news, looks like our weather forecast for the weekend includes Water Elementals ::o:

It would be most helpful if you could direct some of the Elementals attention to our area.

Good morning/afternoon/evening all! *takes a long gulp-guzzle from his skull-mug*

Busy at work, big meeting tomorrow that some people around here are freaking out over, it’s giving me a headache. Anyhow, hope everyone is doing well. 😁

Well, I'd say that the meeting is already a success, isn't the point of most of them to freak people out and cause headaches? ::P:

In any case, I hope it goes well.

@OneBoot---best wishes for a successful hunt!

I'm getting there myself. We've been a man short for almost six months now, and that was before they pulled my one last coworker into another department for six of his eight hours each day...  So I'm quite literally doing the work of two people, and have a supervisor who has never worked in my position at all and doesn't really have a good idea of how things are supposed to work in our department. When the old boss, who sucked as a boss on a personal level but at least knew the job well, left for another company, they made the receiving clerk the head of our department and took away the new guy we'd just gotten to put him in the now-vacant receiving position. (The new guy hadn't been much help anyway since he was both new and hopelessly slow and easily distracted.) So our new boss spends most of his time training the new receiving guy, and quite a bit of the rest of it asking us basic questions about how things are supposed to get done, And every so often comes over to tell us about something that we knew about two hours before (because we get the same emails he does) and/or already handled that morning or the day before.

How about a fire breathing Penguin?

A survival modification where the adults breathe fire onto rocks which are then placed around the eggs.  The now warmed rocks help to incubate the eggs so the chicks hatch healthy and warm.

They're not part of the forecast, they're just doing the weather tourist thing.
