Pegazus
Been bidding on spaceship auctions again. Shouldn't. Really really shouldn't. But... there's this one Spartan Games ship that's eluded me. And I really like it. Is pretty. Auction was sitting at $85. Eh, I can go higher. I know how much the last set went for. So I drive it up. And up. And up. And still am not winning. I finally throw in the towel. Sort of. I decide if he really wants it that bad, he's going to pay big money for it. So the winning bid is not me, but the other guy is going to pay out the nose for it big time. I'm done with my bids for it as long as I can resist the urge to punish the poor fellow more.
Rob Dean
Still have an hour and a quarter before I need to sign in to work for the day…tomorrow is a scheduled off day, and my plan is to PAINT! So this morning I need to set up the VIkings I’d like to start on. I had a brief period of abstaining from miniatures purchases, but having a convention last weekend knocked me back off the wagon with the purchase of several boxes of 1/72 plastics. I almost bought someone else’s painted 1/72 DBA armies in the flea market, something I basically never do, and therefore made up for it by buying new unpainted plastic for it instead. In order to finish those potential projects off, I needed a few more boxes from dealers online, and those packages have started arriving. One package was dropped off in person yesterday by the dealer who realized I was practically around the corner, which startled my wife and caused her to pay attention to the inflow for a while. So I need to be painting tomorrow to justify the arrival of packages… 10

I know I shouldn't moan about it because there are so many people getting hit by much worse weather, but it just grinds you down eventually. Anyways, it's best not to dwell on the negative stuff. Ah, the other danger of Ebay. I 'accidentally' won something like that once. On one hand , I was happy I got the figure/s I had wanted, on the other, I was upset with myself for the amount of money I spent. 5 4

Kuroneko
Awesome photo @TGP! Is that sunrise or sunset? I'm hoping to get some good winter sunrises again this year (it's so much easier when dawn is at 8am!)
kristof65
Morning everyone. This week has already burned me out. A large part of it was the literally hours spent on the phone with both CenturyLink and Cisco tech support Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. It was the last 90 minute call that really did it. We added some devices to the networks at four different sites. We needed to configure some settings in the router for them, but they wouldn't show up in the router's client list so we could make the configurations. Turns out that the router won't show new devices in the client list until they run a minimum amount of traffic in/out to the internet. But we can't make the devices run internet traffic until we could get them configured. No configuration, no traffic. No traffic, no way to configure them. At one point, I just about lost it on the poor CenturyLink tech when he suggested it might be a bad ethernet cable AFTER I pointed out we had identical symptoms at four different physical locations AND the fact that we could log in to each device on their local networks, but just couldn't make them talk to each other across the internet. I had to forcefully point out that his suggestion would mean that we had FOUR bad cables and at the same time had managed to successfully log into the devices through those same bad cables. We finally figured out a work around, but the whole thing was mentally draining. 6 2
PaganMegan
The place Grump took me to feed the bats has been bulldozed. An old cellar under a parking lot had bats, stand still and the skeeters woud eat you, then the bats would eat the skeeters. Worth being a skeeter buffet for. 1

Like, drawing initiative is one click, and there's a "next" button that lets you cycle through easily. So, 2+ decks, fate chips, wound locations, and every single different die type. I have doubts that Roll20 would be able to handle it. Plus, I've had to make a few changed to the system over the years... 13 hours ago, Lord of the Dish Pit said: The question "Why don't people want to work anymore?" often pops up. Rob Dean
While in jest, that gives me an idea for a sidequest, where the adventurers are sent into the dungeon after some feckless scion of nobility who decided to try his hand at the adventuring game… 12

OMG, that was terrible, as we had to drag that damn thing all through out the maze like it was a real kid. My daughter & of the rest of the family were so glad to hand that evil thing off to the next person, Sunday night!! 6
