SparrowMarie
Things: Have recovered from yesterday's weird headache. I mean it's not weird for me to have headaches but the placement of it was weird for me. Either way I'm just glad it's gone. Sibling is getting their second shot today. We're still waiting to hear back from dishwasher repair place about a quote. I think (hope) Husband left messenger open after he told me he was leaving his moms. Otherwise he's been typing for 20ish minutes.

He was not typing for 20 minutes, he just left it opened and didn't notice after he told me he was leaving.

kristof65
Text from Wife: Great news! I picked up a summer school gig to help with bills this summer (she's a school bus driver) Me (looking at dates in her text): That's right in the middle of our vacation. Her: Oh Broccoli! 2
SparrowMarie
Today is youngest nieces birthday. She is 10. We did a video chat with her and my SIL. We got her Pokemon Snap and she was /very/ excited. We were not sure if it was even something she wanted. She got it opened and ran off to play it almost without saying goodbye. So I call that a win.

(I was saving that for a bad party fowl pun, but I'm guessing it might get a legit giggle out of a 10 yo.) 5 1

Moderator OneBoot Posted May 20, 2021 Moderator Share Posted May 20, 2021 The curse of being a fast, reliable, hard worker who has both made herself indispensable and doesn't know how to say "No" : You will ALWAYS end up with more work to do. I'm rising to the occasion and all, but the edges of burnout are starting to peek around the corner. The situation is currently unavoidable due to my co-worker counterpart being out sick all week (he's typically very reliable, so he must have something super nasty to keep him down (it's not Covid, likely food poisoning)), but if it continues much longer, I may end up asking for help with at least a couple of the things that won't require an hour-long training from me lol.
