You're supposed to finish miniatures be fore ordering more?

Yeah, I was pretty surprised to hear this too.  I thought we were supposed to steadily collect them, build some, and paint some of those that are assembled...  And if you start running out of storage space, get more shelves...

Wait, you mean I'm supposed to do something other than "buy more shelves" for this growing stack?  But however will it be a shelf of inspiration and infinite possibilities if it's not, y'know, on a shelf? ::P:

(actually, the biggest reason we're looking at shelves is we want to display our books and whatnot I nthe living room, but the ones for the bedroom will be used to display things as well as store some things - hey, if we're rearranging things so I can have a 6' workbench as a desk so I have height as well as a dedicated build area with separate painting area, might as well look into everything else while we're at it... )

Let's see some things that happened in history on June 11th:

  • 1748 – Denmark adopted the characteristic Nordic Cross flag later taken up by all other Scandinavian countries.

  • 1892 – The Limelight Department, one of the world's first film studios, was officially established in Melbourne, Australia.

  • 1968 – Dr. Lloyd J. Old identified the first cell surface antigens that could differentiate among different cell types. This and other discoveries of his led to many tumor cell immunotherapies.

At the office we use 'a few' cisco WiFi accesspoints... And since they're old, and Cisco in their wisdon no longer wants to support them(these needs a server for config and all that. Not your home WiFi kit) we got a truckload of new ones.

Of course we used the opportunity to check where the signal was poor, and increase the numbers...

(We're now up to 17 in this building)

And yesterday was the switchover day. Some were just 'pull the old, connect the new one, finished', while others were moved, and yet other added. So here and there we needed to get up over the ceiling tiles to mess about.

So, out with the trusty stepladder...

Halfway through the job, I had to do the messy bit, so asked my co-worker where he left it.

And he thought I had it...

We walked the entire floor several times yesterday, and I did the same walk, and even the basement today.

Gone.

Who the elf nicks an old stepladder out of a locked floor?

(You can enter the reception without a keycard, but not get anywhere past that)

I fear that one of our employees is a... a...

I mean, who's orkish enough to risk the wrath of IT?

I'm disappointed with Brood X.

They're not here.

4 years ago we were crawling with Brood X Stragglers but the actual Brood X has never materialized. Maybe my area all awakened early?

I'm also disappointed. I live right on the border of a couple of different broods and typically my backyard tree is alive with cicadas by this time of year. But I've not had a single member of Brood X. I travel all over my state for work and hike in wooded areas everywhere and still haven't seen any. I've heard them way off in the distance a few times, but haven't had the opportunity to go hunting for them yet.

The Eyes in the Darkness has just heard the news about the UK fulfillment possibly being the last to start and is now absolutely seething with inner rage.

We might have to go to IKEA to buy boxes to keep him placated, purely for our own safety ::o:

I’m really glad I didn’t have the energy to call my IP last night.

Wifi went out, I try to direct Hubby through troubleshooting it, because I’m sick and have less energy than a corpse, but it didn’t work. So I say elf it, we still have cell service, and I go to bed (and hubby goes to work).

This morning I look at it and realize it’s not even getting power. The power brick was ajar in its socket. Wifi restored.

That would have been an embarrassing phone call

You can have all of mine. They are still screeching and flying everywhere today. Heard on the news that there were a few accidents due to the bugs flying into cars with windows down, people distracted trying to swat them away. Pretty sure the bugs only come out every 17 years to annoy the broccoli out of humanity.

Anybody else tired of the cicadas yet? It's a good thing these type only come once every 17 years, because they are driving me crazy with their screeching. They are particularly annoying today, as they are also flying all over the place. No point trying to get anything done outside, I just get swarmed with the flying buggers or any equipment gets covered in a dozen of them. Ugh.

It's normally like that here every year, but we may have gotten lucky with the late freeze we had this spring. Haven't heard a peep yet, and it's been over 90 all week.   Usually by now the endless mind numbing droning is sapping our will to live.
