Randomness XVIII: Ex-Vee-Triple-Eye

Recommended Posts

Wow, I'm away from the forums for a few days and we have a new thread ::o:

So here's a couple of new things for a new thread.

The first chick hatched on Monday, second overnight. The screenshot was taken when the second was beginning to hatch  Here's a video of them being fed this morning. It's awesome to see after the nest was abandoned last year.

Live feed of the nest, the weather is a bit wild today!

Dental visit went well, especially the part where what I thought was a cavity turned out to not be one (might be slight chipping on the tooth that is catching the coloring of whatever I drink). Going to monitor it over the next several visits. And just some tarter build up. My wallet is more relieved than I am.

Was honestly anxious about going, not because I don't like the dentist (I do in fact like them!), but because it was my first time in over a year taking a mask off indoors in a place other than my home. But they seemed to have decent protocols in place (mask use mandatory regardless of vaccination, only allowed off during procedures, etc) so hopefully it's all good.

Good to hear your teeth are well. A trip to the dentist is on my to-do list once vaccinated. I'd go if an emergency dental situation arose, but for general maintenance.... eh, I'm holding off a bit longer. I have so many emails and calls from their office saying I'm late for a check-up though. Tough.

Dentist, facial scrubbin', massage, hair salon to even out the un-doing of my teal phase (roots are dark blonde, undoing is light blonde - just want it blended a bit to get rid of the harsh line). Not yet though!

The curse of being a fast, reliable, hard worker who has both made herself indispensable and doesn't know how to say "No" : You will ALWAYS end up with more work to do. :zombie:

I'm rising to the occasion and all, but the edges of burnout are starting to peek around the corner. The situation is currently unavoidable due to my co-worker counterpart being out sick all week (he's typically very reliable, so he must have something super nasty to keep him down (it's not Covid, likely food poisoning)), but if it continues much longer, I may end up asking for help with at least a couple of the things that won't require an hour-long training from me lol.

Huzzah!

I think there's something loose in our (general) area. I got sick last week, I had a coworker call out, with "food poisoning." when I was manning the desk Monday night, and I've heard about other people getting "food poisoning." :zombie:

EDIT: Huh. Just noticed I've got my halo. Is changing your title thingy to something custom still a thing?

I just cannot get motivated to do any work today.

My vacation can't come soon enough (9 days to go).

Yeah, I just booked tomorrow off for a 4 day weekend (we have a holiday Monday) and I've been totally not focused all week....

I dunno about where you live, but Norovirus (also called stomach flu and a leading cause of food poisoning) is going around here.

I just found out about your holiday on Monday this morning, and it annoys me.

Part of my contract is that I cover the phones for all Canadian only holidays, and in exchange I don't have to be on call for any holidays that both countries observe, which means I automatically get things like Christmas and New Years Day off.

But I'm so not looking forward to being the only one working on Monday, not when my vacation countdown will be on a single hand.

On the upside, hopefully I'll only have to deal with US sites, which is more likely than not.

On behalf of Canada.....sorry eh.

Congratulations on hitting the 1000 post milestone.

You may change it, or not, all up to you.

 Since I've been contracting to them for 15 years now, you would think that I would automatically know when all the Canadian holidays are.

For awhile I was doing good, but since we moved to Iowa, I haven't found a good local source for calendars that show both country's holidays.
