Randomness XVIII: Ex-Vee-Triple-Eye

Recommended Posts

Decided to take the boss's offer of getting those extra 24 hours in the next two nights. So it's going to be a long night tonight as I try to stay awake so that I can sleep during the morning/early afternoon tomorrow. Completely reversing my schedule, which is a gamble, but working the next few nights also gives me the chance to work with and learn from someone who has been on that shift for a few months who is switching off the shift before I am scheduled to start it. I really hate making the smart, responsible decisions...

Might catch a bit of a nap around 1am, then wake up to finish laundry and get gas for the car first thing in the morning, then back to bed.

You all enjoy your weekend.

One of these days UPS will understand the actual meaning of "1-3 business days"...  But not this week.

Because apparently Regina is in between Calgary and Edmonton, and according to them a package that came direct from a vendor in Calgary actually shipped from Regina...   It's a whole province to the east....

Oh yeah, and they promised I'd have it yesterday and then definitely today...  Package isn't in town.  Y'know, the package I paid extra on shipping for them to (mis)handle so it would for sure get in town and be delivered before the weekend so I could finish building this 3d printer, but nope, let's ship it 750km in the wrong direction...

Like yeah, I have things I can do this weekend, but I kind of really wanted to finally fire up my 3d printer since pretty much everything else is sorted out now...

DH spent last week waiting for something which got bounced from Florida, to Chicago, to St Louis, to Columbia, MO, to KC, to our local PO, back to Columbia, back to St Louis, and Columbia again, and sent back to St Louis, before getting on a truck to us.  And every morning I got an email saying it would arrive that day before 9pm.

And totally unrelated, we had a school shooting today. Principal and security officer slightly injured, student shooter injured and hospitalized. I'm grateful it ended there.

Yah DHL thinks Salt Lake City &  my town are in the local "deliver today" area when it comes to package tracking.  Something I've noticed the last couple times I've used then for international packages.

So I don't know what is better, clobbering a rival that is on top of you in the standings or beating that same team via comeback win.

Winterhawks played Everett, WA tonight in Everett.  Silvertips totally outplayed Portland in the 1st period & got out to a 2 - 0 lead. 2nd period, Portland was the better team, tied it at 2 all. 3rd, Portland made it 3 - 2 before scoring a gift (Everett player broke his stick & no one around to help out) empty netter with under 1 minute to play.

Winterhawks are under 10 pts back of Everrett for 1st place! Considering how crappy & dismal they started out this season, if the season ended today, I'd be very happy with the way they've managed to come back & play some damn good hockey this year.

Go 'hawks!!

No waiting required.

The Clown Motel series of films is about a haunted hotel out in the desert. Decades ago, a group of misfit clowns took over the hotel to form their own idyllic society where they could frolic and dance and be their clown selves away from the mainstream society that mocked them. Some locals from town hear a rumor about how the hotel was built on the site of an old gold mine and come to steal the gold, burning down the hotel with all the clowns inside. Now their damned souls are trapped in the hotel, and visitors to the hotel are killed and become new clowns.

Don't google the films,

Don't watch the trailers on Youtube.

Seriously.

Honestly, Rob Zombie would kill himself just so he could roll over in his grave.

The only reason to be aware of these films is that they star Ari Lehman, who was the first actor to play Jason Voorhees, appearing as the young Jason in the original film.

This sounds familiar. Have you talked about it before? And I had a vague idea of what a ghost clown horror movie could be and it wasn't that. You could go for the "Scooby Doo Classic" and have a ghost clown haunting an amusement park. Or you could go for "inspired by real people" where there was a serial killer who lived in the house before and killed people in the clown suit but was buried alive by the community because he got off on a technicality in court. Or reverse it and the serial killer killed people dressed up in clown outfits and buried them in the garden. Either one of those could be done easily and well on a low budget.

Okay. That's it. I want my money back for 2022. ALL OF IT. I paid too much for this *just assume it's obscene*!

... If you guys pray, or light candles, or ... anything, I don't know, I'm game. I just got home, Andi's been admitted to the hospital with .. I don't actually know. His blood sugars are hinky, there is weirdness ... they think it will be okay, but naturally, they don't know, and they took him to Bellevue and I cannot put into words how much I loathe city driving and I am .. far closer to a screaming panic attack than I thought, that's lovely.

. .. I'd like a nice, quiet decade of nothing going wrong, please. Not with me, not with my friends, not with  their friends and family .. y'know.

Stupid brain. All week at work I was "can't wait for the weekend to hobby!" And now my creative flow is shut off. Like it only works for the week day. Which is a bad situation that I'm probably going to make worse.

I just started writing the above when I realized the cause and solution to so many of life's problems! Alcohol! (paraphrasing Homer Simpson there)

So, off to the grocery store to get dinner supplies and then I'm going to start day drinking. By the time I've got all the designs written down that I need to work on, I can switch to caffeine.

It's probably the wrong thing to do, but meh, Saturday. Beats sitting in a sad stupor staring blankly at a piece of paper.

I totally feel yah on the whole hobby-weekend thing, or in my case Saturdays. I had couple guys cancel for today so we just didn't play the Witchlight game, as I want everyone in when we play, so I left my hobby stuff on the game table out in the garage, last night after I listen to the Winterhawks game. I've yet to go out there today. I need to thou!

The kraken has been unleashed. You've been warned.

And it worked. Seven pages of designs in a half hour. I am not happy that simple molecular chains can have such a significant impact on my well being and mental health.

Plus, I'm afraid to stand up.
