Making your own pigment powders...

Model Railroaders have been using these artists pastels for decades for various weathering and other effects on buildings and rolling stock.

Ground into fine powder and applied with a brush.  For permanence on rolling stock that will be handled it is then sealed in place with a fixative.

91 sounds nice.  We've been averaging 93-96 this week.  That's about 20° above average. Will be nice to have a weekend only in the 80s.   I'm going out because walls make me stir crazy.

That sounds crazy, we are in the 50s to 70s (mostly the 60s range) mostly this week. Rain & wind have been the majority of it as well. TBH, I'll take this over the overbearing heat when it reaches the 90s & 100s.

It appear it'll be a nice day out today at least.

I had a mental red flag very similar on reading the scenario.  Somebody doesn't want any audit trails followed, which usually means somebody is playing games with the books.

Expect this business to be sold or shut down in the not to distant future.

That was the exact reaction of just about everyone else in the company when I sent out my "FYI - This Happened" email.

CEO responded with "We cannot legally delete these files, especially now that we've learned a subpoena may be forthcoming."

I'm wondering if the subpoena will be sent to me since I'm in the US, or to my client in Calgary? Or if they'll even bother when they realize it's a Canadian company?

:upside: Apparently there is no such thing as Dunkin Donuts any longer

I had to look up Berliners and that led down a donut hole** that resulted in the link above where we learned that Dunkin is done with using the word Donut.

**instead of a rabbit hole.

I didn't know that.  Possibly because I've never been to a Dunkin?  I'm guessing their menu is no longer so limited.  Hmm.

I laughed, but if he's got prior military experience (I'm assuming as enlisted), he might actually do ok.

If he was a brand new 2nd LT right out of school, I'd bet (heavily) on the map.

You should read some of the hobby articles about the engineering involved in getting track lifts and swing gates constructed across doorways and such.

Not when you have to spend more than two hours dealing with Nevada Energy's failing phone system in an attempt to simply pay an electric bill.

I finally called the Public Utilities Commission, got through in less than two minutes, spoke to a very nice lady who told me they are getting increasing numbers of complaints of the similar problems and they logged mine.

Nevada Energy called back this afternoon and I told the nice young lady on the line to forward my complaint to her superiors that as somebody with 40 years plus experience dealing with electronics it is my professional opinion that every dollar spent attempting to repair their current system is a dollar wasted, they need to jack up the phone numbers and run in new hardware and software.  I wished her a nice weekend and I will be paying my electric bill at the grocery store next week.
