October 26, 2021: Distributor informs me of completion of install of equipment at a city owned facility so I can work with the city administrators to finish setting up X & Y.  I immediately reach out to city contact.  No reply. For the next four weeks, I attempt to reach out again multiple times with no replies. In late November, I put the ticket into a suspended status, waiting for the city to contact me back.

January 19th, 2022: FINALLY hear back from city. I unsuspend the ticket, and explain the next steps of X & Y.  Am told that I will hear back from the relevant people about X & Y.

January 21st, 2022: Am contacted by the city vendor representative about X. Unfortunately, this vendor doesn't support the requirements, so have to refer city to one of our recommended vendors. Still have heard nothing about Y.  Follow up a couple of times over the next two weeks, get no response, so put ticket back into suspended status.

May 31st, 2022: My contact at one of our recommended vendors contacts me about X for the city. We go over requirements, he tells me he'll have the setup information to me "in a couple days." A couple of days go by, nothing from him or the city.  Put the ticket back into suspended status.

This morning I get the setup information from my vendor contact.  Immediately followed by an email from the city asking "can we get this finished today?"

Mind you, I still don't have the setup information for Y, and I have to do them together.

This sounds like an example to be included in the textbook "How not to run an organization".

colour me jealous (which in this case is a nice, clean black) Not that I should speak, I had one once, but it is on a semi-permanent loan with my parents church.  Sometimes though i want it back. I so rarely print anything, but still.

Need something printed? I'm your guy. Reasonable rates.

. . . There is no way I am going to go and get something printed. It would require me to go to Saskatchewan.

Email inbound -then- CanadaPost outbound ?

Reasonable shipping. More if you're not expecting it to be crumpled and mangled. Be aware of the chance of paper pirates intercepting shipment.

We are going to Shrek the Musical to celebrate our anniversary.

At what point did we start choosing child appropriateish anniversary celebrations?

SWMBO and I went to The Little Mermaid (the musical) on one of our early dates...

Well, we got out of our apartment okay. I had to take an extra day, and it wasn’t as clean as I wanted it to be (though far cleaner than most folks’ standards).

Our attic is slowly getting set up. It looks very much like a pillow fort. Sephy loves it, because she’s got a window she can stand at and see outside (and yell at everything going on outside).

Unfortunately, and predictably, work on the kitchen has stalled out. It’s been a week since anything was done in there. But the gal who is helping us is doing it as a gift, so I’m not going to complain.

It would be nice to be able to cook again though. My body and wallet do not care for all this eating out.

Some cooking doesn't need a fully functional kitchen. I've made do with a convection microwave oven, electric wok and plug-in induction cooktop...

Bah, one of those mornings.....

feeling better, realized I needed to update my character's journal for my Sunday night D&D game.  So I opened it up to the relevant page, grabbed my "trusty" TWSBI Eco that I've been using all along for this character, realized it was out of ink.  Ok, no problem, simple matter to refill.... except that the bottle of ink I'd been using apparently didn't get capped tightly, AND was lying on it's side, and all the ink is dry in the bottom of the box.  Well, that's ok, it was cheap ink anyway and I was just trying to use it up.  It does mean fully cleaning the pen, which is tedious but not hard.  Flush the pen thoroughly, grab the Noodler's Dark matter, ink it up.  Write a test line on some scrap paper to make sure everything kopacetic, then open up the journal and start writing, and three words in BLOOOOOOOOOOT.  a huge puddle comes out, instantly soaks through the page and got some on the page behind, I was able to get a tissue on it before any further damage was done, but now I need to redo a page in the journal because I blotted over what happened before too......

When I was a single digit age child my parents moved house. The movers just stacked all the furniture in one room (Den?) near the front of the new house. I loved it! There were all these tiny crannies and nooks only 4(?) year old me could get into. A fort with secret passages!

Then they sent me off to grandma's for the day. When I got back, it was all fixed; I was SOOOOoooo disappointed; the parents were sad when I didn't like the new setup. I MISSED MY FORT!! But, they were all proud they'd gotten the house sorted out.

snippet of conversation my wife and I had this morning as I was fixing my breakfast.

Me (out loud, but to myself): I think I'm going to ditch the biscuit.
Mrs. Kristof: Sounds like a band name.

Me: huh?
Mrs. Kristof: Ditch the Biscuit. Sounds like a band name

Me: ah, yes. Ditch the Biscuit, featuring their new hit song, Biscuit Licker!

If you absolutely require context:

Spoiler

I was referring to the bread portion of a frozen breakfast sandwich.

Biscuit Licker is how my kids sometimes refer to our cat, Echo.  Actually, the full reference is "Biscuit Licker Barf Truck" She was once caught licking the top of a freshly baked tray of biscuits cooling on the counter, shortly before or after she barfed up a "hairball the size of a truck".
