I personally prefer more traditionally styled rifles, but if it shoots that well (and you're using it at a range), good choice.
Glitterwolf
Hrmph.. My girl felt a bit under the weather, last night we thought it was flu, tested negative. Today she tested positive for Covid. So she's staying in the bedroom now, called in sick for her work. Rules are that we ( me and oldest vixen) will only have to test if we get symptoms. Let's hope for the best. 2
CaptainPete
I just wanted to pop in and say thanks to those who recommended Turbo Dork's Spicy Meatball paint. It worked for the first project I needed it for. Reaper's Ruby red makes an excellent undercoat for it. Now, back to painting. Glitterwolf
You know that story of Romeo and Juliet? How two lovers from feuding families found each other? It seems M.E.O.W. and WOOF might have something like this on their paws.. Where else did these two come from? 4 1

If I could get ammunition I'd stick to my SMLE. Love those rifles. The main reason I'm looking at the MDT stock over a more traditional one is easy adjustability to fit me better. I'm pretty tall and find a lot of rifles have too short of stocks for me. Makes it awkward when using scopes. With this I should be able to get a perfect match for easier more accurate shooting. I don't have a range near me but owning over 3,000 acres of land means I have somewhere to shoot. The last few years coyotes have been a big problem for me, killing a lot of my calves. They got smart and stay out of range when they see my vehicles. This may double my effective range and let me get at them without knowing I'm there.

That makes perfect sense, the MDT stocks just always struck me as target focused so I didn't consider the other factors. I'm lucky in that a standard CZ stock fits me pretty well. I would love to have 3000 acres to play on. Maybe if I win the lottery one day...for the time being I'm limited to small calibre shooting (at least until we move and I'll actually be close enough to get to a range) What calibre do you use for coyotes? I'm guessing you're looking at something like a .308 for accuracy at that range?
Pegazus
Bit cruel but I am uploading video shorts of the mountain river and pines to torture my brother. Family tradition from 1951 to visit the New Mexico alpine area, and his family doesn’t like to go to the same place twice. So he relents and doesn’t come. I make him pay even more by just sitting and doing nothing on my vacation rather than running around with every hour planned out with something new to do. Exhausting. I am here on a porch overlooking a babbling river, winds whispering thru the pines, and birds all around singing. Very peaceful. When his night shift starts, I will send him the links. Think I will drop them in my glittery canine payback thread, too. 4

Green Eyed Monsty
It's in the news that Google has put an engineer on leave for claiming, and apparently demonstrating to at least one reporter, that Google's LaMDA Project AI has achieved sentience and acts like it is apparently circa 8 years old in its responses. Has Mycroft Holmes achieved actuality? I'd love to have access to that system for long enough to direct its attention to "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress". Meanwhile, we have high winds that are whipping the dry lake bed into a dust storm that is obscuring visibility to the south of us. for some reason, the winds are carrying most of the dust to the south and east of us, traveling along the foothill to the east in a northerly direction that more or less skirts our property. Interesting to watch, and I'm grateful that we aren't being sand blasted. GEM
