Day 2 of mild fever. It's been off and on the whole time. I am also very tired but I'm usually tired so that's not weird for me. I don't feel the need to test yet. I hardly go anywhere as it is so I'm just suspecting it's a cold. If it gets worse I'll definitely test.

Sigh. Reprogram and Verify @kristof65

Reprogram and Verify.

Like trust but verify; only with sparks. Why do they not know this?

Because the assumption is that techs have magical wizardry that doesn't make the current whizbang kazooms angry, when in reality the things that are indeed running on duct tape and a prayer get very, VERY cranky if something changes.  Something about the magical pixies running the show not liking the new colour of wall paint or something.

... But magically they all settle down if you check in on them after the changes, give a few pets and words of encouragement, since the tech effect is still there if you're following a tech's instructions when you're supposed to.

Aka yeah, you'd think when asked to verify something that you will, so that if a problem did sneak in (they tend to do that) it can be dealt with before the rush of people flood in with "uhm, hey, this... Isn't working"

The tire track says that it is not melting; nor was it Aliens.

Never attribute to Malicious Aliens with Heat Rays what can adequately be explained by stupidity.

That's an old saying. Or if it is not, it should be.

Thursday morning I had an appointment with a customer to do a price change for their vacuums, tellers and bays. Pretty simple procedure, I set the programming, and push it out to all of the bays/vacuums/tellers.  However, I won't do it without someone on site, so that that person can go and check that all of the equipment did, in fact, properly update with the new prices and settings and/or that we didn't accidently break something.

So my last instructions to the person I was dealing with on Thursday was "I'm done. Now go check everything and make sure it's all working right, charging the right prices, etc. Call me back if you find any issues"

When the rest of Thursday and most of Friday had gone by and I hadn't heard from the site, I closed the ticket.

You know where this is going, right?

Yep, this morning I come into emails and service calls that two different things aren't working.   Things they should have caught if they had done the checks I told them to last Thursday.

I have NO sympathy for the complaint "we've been down all weekend!" that has been part of every call/email from them this morning.

Good thing they aren't dealing with me.  My response would be along the lines of "Not my problem.  My problem is your inability to follow simple instructions."

My Doctors have tried a different medication for migraine, Emgality, which is a once a month injectable.

We had a big windstorm yesterday and I'm feeling aftereffects today.

Headache isn't quite as bad as normal but still bad enough for me to need Tramadol to take the edge off.  In addition, my Tinnitus is aggravated by the meds and is really bad today.

And Mama wants to go to a movie tonight.

So, I’ve been going to a physical therapist (overworked my leg while moving, pinched my sciatic nerve) and this morning there was another guy there, working on a yoga ball. I'm thinking to myself: yoga balls are great, but if I never have to sit on another of the damn things again I’ll die a happy woman. I still feel traumatized by bouncing Sephy on the dang thing for like 6 hours when she was a tiny baby!

I was on Emgality for about 6 months last year. Worked great until my doctor wanted to take me off of Botox with it. It worked wonders but it was very expensive (insurance wouldn't pay for both treatments at the same time) and I didn't want to stop Botox because I knew it was definitely working. It also hurt like heck for me.

Hopefully, you will have a better experience with it and that it helps.

Hey all.  So Covid kicked my butt for about a week and a half, just finally recovered over the weekend. First wave was very cold like, last ed 4-5 days. Then I felt pretty good for most of a day, then had a severe sinus headache and no energy for another 4-5 days.  They put me on anti-inflammatory inhaler for the sinus pressure (apparently having the virus cause nasal inflammation isn't too uncommon, especially for those with respiratory conditions) and I've been (ugh) doing the whole flushing your sinuses with salt water thing (did I mention ugh?).

Feeling decent now and back to work. Will venture out for the first time since my trip to emerg to see about my sinuses  (my Doc wasn't available) tomorrow for SW Legion.

Hope I didn't miss too much while I was too tired to check the forums....

Three cowboys are out on the range

It's been a long day and all are hungry. The first cowboy rummages in his saddlebags and pulls out a strip of meat to munch on.

"Got any more of that?" asks the second

"Nope. But I can show you where to get some: the bacon-tree."

"The whut?"

"The bacon-tree. It's two hour's ride yonder."

"You're pulling my leg."

"God's truth. C'mon, I'll show you."

The other cowboys are skeptical, but boot their horses after his.

It's tough going. Steep, loose slopes and narrow ridges, with not a scrap of shade. Eventually they reach a deep canyon, and pick their way down to the bottom.

"There," says the first cowboy. "See? Like ah told ya."

Sure enough, right in front of them amongst all the dry earth and stones is a rich green shrub, covered in dangling strips of meat.

"Well I'll be," says the third cowboy. He slides off his horse and makes his way to the shrub, but just as he's reaching out, a gunshot echoes down the canyon. The third cowboy cries out, staggers, turns, and stumbles back toward the other two clutching his belly.

"Run!" he yells, waving his other arm madly. "Get outta here! It's not a bacon tree! *It's a ham-bush!"*
