You need to check state law for the legality of recording a phone conversation without disclosing that a recording is being made.

However, there is no law against making notes as you are on the phone, transcribing those notes and sending a copy to the person you were on the phone with so you both agree on what was said.

GEM

True.  Some states only one party has to know(and that CAN be the recording party) but some require that it be announced so both parties can consent.  That and it's generally just polite to go ahead and say 'this call will be recorded'.

They're an engineer, if they offered a tldr version it would still be 100 pages long..

That is just because they shortened it by removing the pictures.

We started buying baby wipes by the carton when we had babies, but we got so used to having them around we keep getting them...

Same here.

My day started off with an email from one of our partner vendors asking for setup information about equipment I didn't install at a site I didn't know was installing that equipment because no one bothered to say anything to me, even though I'm the one who does that particular setup*.  Setup that requires not only physical installation, but correct configuration of our equipment AND the customer's network.

If that weren't annoying enough, this was for an owner who did the same exact thing at his other location a few months ago - installed the equipment wrong without notifying us, and then started blasting our partner vendor when it didn't work.

*because no one else even wants to try, even though I wrote up explicit step by step instructions so that any of our techs can do it.

Expand

Australia: "Everything changed when the Emu nation attacked."

No, they didn't. They were acting in self defence.

And no, that's not supposed to be in purple. Look up The Great Emu War if you don't know what I'm talking about.

It's National Hydration day,  go drink some water! It's good for you!

At last. One of these I could easily do. (Without pre-planning and prep.)

Well as some of you know my Unit went through a reorganization.

I will keep my position till I retire, only last year I may have to do something else but that will be arranged for me.

Since we're now officially a new Unit I got a new badge.

The Dutch Lion on our new symbol.

Wouldn't feel strange to use this as a symbol for an evil faction in a scifi game either..

And you get to be honorary guests at Tiger Meets!  (sadly the unit I grew up around didn't get that honour, but such is life.  Something something birds aren't cats, lol)

Sadly I missed out when one was hosted in Alberta, but oh well.  Our boys were top dogs that round, much to the annoyance of many top tier American pilots.  Word was some claimed favouritism and the Canadians were laughing because we had like ONE judge the whole event...

Word was it was a pretty good event.  I wouldn't mind attending one one of these days if one's nearby ^_^
