Boring!?! How could a several hour breakout session about reconnecting flood plains be boring to anyone?! Unless we are talking about hydraulic directional drilling under streams, in which case we would literally be discussing boring.

I had a long day at work, thanks for the laugh. 😄

I see that and think about wearing it to the hobby store and pulling out my horde army, one figure at a time.

Nothing quite like finally finishing up that thing you've been working on for easily two weeks.  One would think finding a permanent spot for my Voron Trident on a less wobbly table would have been a lot easier to pull off, but funny what happens when you have a small place and have done a bunch of optimizing of this and that in order to accommodate everything...

Now if only I'd been able to also deal with all the extra clutter and schtuff that had accumulated under the gaming table, but we'll get to that over the next little while.  I do miss the table, but it wasn't working out for our needs, and I am glad we don't have this massive dominating presence of a table in the middle of the room anymore, plus I'll have a nice spot for my audio gear when I start getting it too...

Wider walkways are handy too, as is the fact both of us are contemplating different ways to work in beanbag chairs again.  Yeah, once we got the basics of the new setup sorted out both of us had some interesting ideas for seating...

No. Drilling is done with a drill bit or drill string, and is imprecise. Usually, the hole isn't even properly round.

Boring, on the other hand is usually 'one point'. That is, one cutting edge going round and round and round. As long as the material around it is uniform, it will result in the same amount of backpressure and deflection all the time, and you get a round hole.

Here you can see 'Line boring' where the axle holding the boring tool is secured in both ends, so deflection is even less.

Also, heavy metal.

Real heavy metal...

Here he's using a small boring bar on his lathe...

Unless we're talking about shaft raise boring in the mining industry.

Crazy weather, for the past 7 days or so, we've had temps of 105+ (with a couple reaching 110 or 111). Last night, I wake up & go to work with a big bursts of a windstorm rolling through town, stirs up all the dust in the area. It was one of those, turn my head sideways as I walk, just so I can see kinda walks. This morning, I get home, need to take the trash out as today is garbage can pick up week, so as I'm hauling that out, I can feel raindrops on my skin....wt&? I needed to prime some new miniatures, I printed over the past week, so I quickly did that under the awning of the garage roof & afterwards, I went & took advantage of the extra moisture & coolness in the air & I set the water in the backyard (can we officially just say yellow is the correct grass color now?).

I came inside & not more then 30 mins later, we are getting actual raindrops & it's actually soaking the ground here. Hopefully this means the end of the heat dome 100s for a bit. Knowing our weather it just means it'll still get over 100 but be muggy & humid, vs what we normally get. We shall see.
