Mad Jack
Damn... I'm sure we'll be reading about that tomorrow... Jack did a dumb thing - he jumped on an EvilBuy grenade that he couldn't really afford at the moment just to get one of his sort-of Holy Grail minis... Fortunately, there's at least one figure in the lot that I can resell to get some of my money back. I are smart. 7

It needs to be stipulated that the given value for "normal" around here is not necessarily congruent with "normal" as it is commonly understood by "normal" people. But that would be boring so bring on the "normal". GEM Edited September 5, 2022 by Green Eyed Monsty 6 1

They know we are going to snap up whatever is available as soon as it is made available so why not take pre-orders and build them accordingly. Inarah
Even those of us at the con would have liked to pre-order and pick them up. I think they were boxing swag the day of the con, at last that's what it felt like. Some of the minis were available, eventually, like Sophie and the mousling, but we could not buy the hotel figure(s) or the paints and washes. (A handful of spare wash sets were there when the hall opened and got snapped up within minutes). They ran out of the punch card goblin on the first day, and were doing substitutes. There were no extra dragon busts that I saw, swag box purchase only. Ron looked exhausted the whole weekend and Reaper employees were running their behinds off to make the con a success. All the swag is made by Reaper, so I expect they will fill and sell as many boxes as they can until the end of the month. 6 2
Sylverthorne
I would have preferred the preorders too. >.< Suspect a lot of us would have; even if they didn't ship until after for those of us who couldn't make it... 5
Pegazus
Did the swag boxes still left at the con store sell out? There were quite a bit when we last walked through just before noon. Rika and I got the punch card goblin on Thursday. She wasn’t impressed by it (animal painter for the most part) and almost traded with Jedijared. But wasn’t sure. Saturday she finally decided to get it traded and Dilvish snagged it this morning. Bunny warrior is now in her hands (they’d run out of Rockies). I think we both got the mouslings, but don’t recall the Sophie. Have to check bags after we get home.
Inarah
I got Sophie on Friday or Sat with my gift card, but they weren't out on the rack Thurs. I got the goblin Thurs AM when I bought the swag boxes for DH, but they were out of him when I did my punch card on Friday, and still out when DH turned his in Sat eve. I wasn't really tracking boxes after we got ours, but they were bringing in new supply periodically from the factory. I'm curious about the hotel minis, I thought there were going to be several different ones but an employee later told me he thought there was only one design. Anyone know for sure?

Having the Con come up as fast after the close of the Kickstarter as it did has to have been a strain on all the people in management positions. Reaper isn't that large of a company to have management "floaters" who can go from job to job. Having the break in routine caused by the pandemic hasn't helped keep the rhythm of work flow going either. Still would be nice, especially for those of us who have been to Reapercon in the past, to be able to have just a taste of the con in the form of a swag bag, even if it is missing a couple of the short supply items. Lord of the Dish Pit
I have had an unexpected adventure this morning. The summer funk has been especially bad this year, due to the light pollution steming from the new streetlights, neighbors thinking the block needs to be lit up like a Reno Saturday night all night long, the constant unatural non yellowness of the sunlight for the last few years, and the county workers widening the main road next to the house leaving the yard cluttered with signage since March....(which is why I havent been around, I have developed an inability to not rant about these things and hence have made myself scarce.) Now that Autumn approches, (and enough people yelled at the city to get them to dim the streetlights somewhat) Ive been attempting to get back out of the funk in various ways, including a return to some manner of fitness regimen. So having done some sets on the bench this morning, I decided that perhaps a bit of cardio would be in order. This was around 4am, so I figured that not only would I avoid the tyranny of the sun, but people as well. I decided to visited the park down by the river, since it is the 26th anniversary of some rather pleasent events attached to the place and the nostalgia's been hitting fierce the last few years anyway... So on my way down there, I recieve an omen of what is to come, as Im crossing a parking lot downtown, I hear a dirtbike engine and sure enough, a kid on a minibike comes puttering down the hill behind me. He apparently didn't see me at first, but when he did, the poor kid almost went over his handlebars hitting the brakes, then shot off the way he came. Now I'm a rotund balding nerd with a cane, not exactly the most frightening think one could encounter at 4am in a well lit, block sized parking lot, and I was practically on the other side of it from him, but apparently the very sight of me had the same effect of as that of a Ringwraith the way he tore outta there. So I continue on, shaking my head in amusement on the skittishness of people lately, (a few days ago while mowing the lawn I must have looked mean as hell because three different passersby gave me rather odd and frightend looks before scurrying off at speed,(this has been this week's theme.), and this is quickly followed by gut wrenching disgruntlement when I get to the park and find nothing that was there in 1996 yet remains, and that the huge rock I had been intending to perch upon, in rapport with my younger self is no where to be found. I decide that I shall not be swayed from my purpose and I wander East, in search of my rock. I also was engaging in an extended inner rant about the light pollution visable from North of the river and the park itself, which must have had one of my neighbors on the design team from the number of light poles every 8 feet or so...finally I reach to furthest Eastern end, and there are more lights, this time in the trees, and I write this off as just more of the insanity I had previously witnessed, and in any case I have sighted my rock, relocated to the furthest edge nearest the woods and close to the river's edge. Eyes only on my perch, I continue on...only to nearly tramble some people who had been partaking in some night fishing and hadn't seen me until I was right on top of them and I hadn't seen them either and in my disgruntled state I must've looked like some primordial evil out of the darkness, cause they freaked out, running off towards their vehicle before I could say anything. The incidents over the last couple days have desensitized me somewhat, so I keep going, hoping that by showing no interest in them or their belongings, I have conveyed that I an not a threat, and I continue on to my rock. No sooner do I perch however, then they return with what looked to be baseball bats and flashlights, and start hunting through the park. Okay, these folks are scared out of thier minds and seemingly armed, I'm not sticking around because I doubt they're going to listen to reason and I'd rather not become a statistic, so I make my way into the woods, hoping that either they'll leave me alone, or that the trail continues to a point where I can loop South and get the elf out of the area. Neither of these hopes come to pass. My path is blocked by a large stream, and since it's quarter to 5 I don't have enough light to navigate since by now I am deep in the undergrowth, so I hunker down, figuring that they won't try to hunt me down, after all I didn't say or do anything threating....they got reinforcements from somewhere, now five people with flashlights and presumably weapons of some kind are beating the bush in a search line...I am definately not taking the chance of trying to speak with them now. So I proceed to spend the next 45 minutes, belly crawling through the underbrush, following then crossing the stream heading Southeast as best as I can reckon, wincing every time I snap a twig, although they're still making enough noise that usually they don't hear me. Around 6am I make it to the other end of the woods, where a couple of houses are and I hightail thru the yards, up to the road and then quickly make my way home wondering how in the elf a simple morning walk and nostalgia indulgence has turned into my own personal version of Rambo First Blood. The only saving grace I can see is that I did indeed get my cardio in and more than I had expected. I cannot determine if the world has gone mad or I have, but from here on out I shall not be venturing out of the house on Mondays if I can avoid it. 4 1
