On a completely unrelated note, sure Achilles and Hercules were great, but neither actually had the balls of Testicles!

My brother used to have a Panamanian friend whose name was Temesticles. Obviously, you can see why his nicknames was "Balls".

One of our friends has disruted tonight's game by bringing his brand new and shiny Horus Heresy Age of Darkness box....

That... is a lot of space marines....

He is doing the army up for use in Grimdark Future, and has already sold the rulebook that came with the box.

And that Spartan tank?

Sweeet!

Looks like... maybe 4,000 points, in Grimdark Future?

Most of our games are at 2,000 - 3,000 points.

He is all set for Battle Brothers.

The Auld Grump - Beakies, Frodo! BEAKIES!

The Age of Darkness box is probably the best deal out there, for Games Workshop products that is.

Came across this browsing abcnews' website tonight. It's part of the Comedy Wildlife Awards, this is one of the Affinity Photo People's Choice Award nominees. There are others but of course this is my favorite. 🐿️

Good night for Pathfinder at the FLGS, thou we did have a guy who stat down & played the pregen fighter, Valeros. Of course having a new player to the table is always a good thing, but ummm he didn't do anything but roll dice & write random numbers on the pregen sheet. Also he kept just moving every mini the DM put on the board like he was playing with them. He started to move the players & one player who I printed & he paid for minis as well. He took his pen & stuck it under the legs of his mini & tbh, I was ready for the polearm to snap off, but luckily it didn't. The guy mainly bummed cigs off anther player & doodle on his character sheet. Why he was there, who knows??

Other then that it was a short adventure, set in the Forest of Spirits in the Oriental side of Golarian. Fought a few monsters including some rock creatures & a large "treant"-like  creature & negotiated with a kitsune for some stolen goods we needed to bring back. As for my character, I actually took my first creature induced damage. Pretty good for a character I've played around 9 times so far (he's a halfling rogue).

Had an interesting "Day after Birthday" Birthday Celebration.

Mama wanted to buy me a railroad related book so we started out by dropping by the RR Museum and I picked up one of the Virginia and Truckee specific volumes the museum has published on the equipment in the collection.  Plus a Nevada State Flag for Nick Anything to carry for the Nevada Day Parade.  Nevada Day is actually "Nevada Day Weekend" as people around here take being admitted to Statehood very seriously, besides which it's another reason to have fun stuff going on yet another weekend.

Then off to Reno and what turned in to probably the most time I have spent in a Hobby Lobby on any single visit.  They are reorganizing the store, the area where Christmas Stuff is going has shelves already full of stuff plus the aisles are jammed with more stuff yet to be shelved.  As part of the re-organization some of the stuff I went there for is out of stock and won't be restocked for another couple of weeks.  They've moved whole departments, with the fabric and related items now occupying part of what used to be craft area, all the craft stuff has been shifted towards the end of the store where the fabric department used to be, the art supplies have all been put in the area where the framing supplies and department used to be and the framing goodies and service counter shoved into the area where the fabric department used to be.  So the store is somewhat disorganized and it's going to take a few trips to learn where they put "stuff" now.

I did find most of the things I need to finish my arrangements for the Nevada day Parade, including jingle bell bracelets that with a little extra velcro will be big enough to go above my boot tops and hand bells so I will jingle with every hand wave.

Dinner and a movie was part of the plan so we tracked down a place reputed to have really good Italian Food.  It's the oldest family owned restaurant in Nevada, having been established in 1937 and is now being run by the third generation of the same family.  The place fits into the definition of a "Classic Italian Joint" with that accumulation of interesting clutter that certain classes of bars and restaurants seem to collect over the decades.  And the food is worth the drive all the way to the east side of Reno for from our place in Stagecoach, probably 50 miles each way.  Mama Elvira's recipes from Genoa Italy are being faithfully followed to this day, and they are really tasty.

We saw the new George Clooney/Julia Roberts movie, definitely a chick flick that has it's moments of hilarity.

We hit moderately high winds on the way home, enough to make easing off 5 to 10 mph prudent in certain areas, expected as we have a major weather change coming in with a hard freeze predicted for Sunday Night after rain late tomorrow.

All in all a nice if slightly delayed birthday celebration.

Everybody please have a good weekend.

One tank and about (I didn’t try to count them in the picture I found) 40 ground-pounders is 4000 points?

I used to run a Heroclix team of 8 Dex-starrs and Guy Gardner. Man, was that ever fun as Guy could carry them all and then they would surround someone for 1 point of penetrating poison each, each turn! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!

Man... This sucks....

I'm completely out of chips, and even have to watch Maskorama(Norwegian edition of The Masked Singer) on a 10" tablet.

Can't go out and buy snacks because...

Got struck down by Covid.

Started shivering uncontrollably on wednesday evening, and was getting a fever, so I hit the sack.

Had to get up a couple of times during the night, and boy am I happy that I mounted that bracket on top of the shelves in the hallway, otherwise my hallway would be even more of a mess... There's less than 2 meters fom my bedroom door and to the bathroom door. THAT was scary.

Managed to get up at 9am on thursday, and called myself out sick. I was slightly steadier on my feet then, so... Probably back on monday, right?

The rest of thursday and most of friday was huddle under the duvet and extra blankets time.

I made a pot of tea on thursday. Most of it was still in the pot on friday afternoon.

Today I finally remembered that I had a couple of test kits....

It came out 'You're so boned. Are you certain you're still alive?'.

Still have a fever, and have lost at least 3kg, mostly liquid.

And the only snacks I have is a mini pack of Jaffacakes!

(I usually shop snacks on my way home on friday)

Oh, and on tuesday there's a big delivery of IKEA shelves that I'm supposed to collect at a local distribution point.

I'll have to call on monday morning and see if they can shift the date to thursday, or next week.

Having been there, sympathy and understanding.

Please, stay hydrated.  If you have lost that much body fluid you are probably dehydrated.

Hopefully the Ikea people will be understanding.

Is there somebody that can make a grocery run for you?  If so, consider having them pick up some sports drinks for you.  Besides the liquid it will provide replacement electrolytes and a few calories.  Powerade, which I drink on a regular basis for my migraine issues, helped get me through my bout of Covid late last winter.

Try not to stress too much and let your body deal with this so you get well soonest.

Okay, this is just <expletive>ing ridiculous...

Apparently, yesterday police in CT received 18 different "SWAT-ing" calls about active shooters at various schools, all of them fake...

Who the **** does something like that?  I'm so pissed I can't even bring myself to put an angry emoji here...
