Oh lovely. Just had an “episode” sitting at my cube. It’s happened before and I just got told by Google what it was.

Silent migraine with aura!

Pretty and jagged rainbow. Blind spot is annoying, tho.

Ah, one of those. I've seen them called ocular migraines.

I also sometimes get them. No pain, and luckily temporary (well under 30 minutes). I always hope I never get a long episode while I'm driving.

Had a discussion recently with one of my pain management specialists about something similar.  Basically all the migraine symptoms without the headache.  All of these migraine related symptoms are classified as a migraine episode, even without the headache.

For information, they have me on Qulipta.now and it seems to be working better than anything else they have had me try.

And I realized from a coworker’s going away party where I was just chatting about my career, that I have had a very interesting one. Trivia that are just mundane to my coworkers blow others away. Two examples, both from my early career.

1) I would take my lunch outside to eat. Normal right? Where I ate it wasn’t. I would eat just outside our building/hanger on the tarmac, leaned up against the nose wheel of an SR-71B, the two seat trainer. It was stored there and was “common”. But it was outside and one of the few shady spots.

2) Due to my job and being low man on the pole, I had the lowly and dirty task of weighing airplanes coming out of maintenance. Part of that required taking inventory of what was on that shouldn’t be and off that should be. Requires getting into the cockpit, sitting on the bare metal seat as the cushions are custom formed for each pilot, and checking that all the gauges are there. Do this in a program that sees each airplane every five years, and stick around for that long, and you will have sat in all of them. Thus, I have sat in every U2-S flying. And two that crashed.

My coworker we were saying goodbye to was floored and thought that was absolutely cool. But it’s just a Tuesday for me. Where I am now is space related. So heat shields are sitting around. The helicopter on Mars had a twin for testing. I have seen it through a window as they were building it. I keep getting applications rejected by the Mars sample return program. I have declined using Neil Armstrong’s urinal at KSC. I have been next to enough solid rocket fuel to kill me and about a hundred people around me.

But that’s just a Tuesday.

Just for the lulz, finish by telling them you don't know how to set the clock on a microwave.

Did the forums die again? See a six hour gap between posts.

Interview went well, but I think they will go with someone with more experience in pyrotechnics and composites. If there is such an individual.

Did get a cookie out of the meeting. And just happy to get an interview. So it was worth it at least for those two joys.

Not sure, but it really didn't want to let me post pictures this afternoon. Kept having to retry over and over before they'd appear as images instead of download links.

Fingers crossed for the job. 🤞

Noticed that the pressure in the heating system was down again.

Yep..

Installation is leaking again at the spot where they placed a new tap yesterday ( took 5 hours including draining and refilling the system and some other parts)

So calling the company again, it's a good guy, things can happen but I'm not happy at this point.

Hope it will be solved soon, it's getting on my nerves.

Now taking suggestions for the name of the next Randomness thread, to be opened once we close this one at 1000 pages.

I did 18. Y’all can come with something better than Ex-Eye-Ex . . ?

I do have an idea for two threads further down the road:

Randomness XXI: Abandon All Goblin Math Ye Who Enter Here.
