Had to pick up a few items from our local Smith's earlier today and the checker said today feels like a Monday/Thursday. Which, judging from the number of completely oblivious people in the store and the parking lot sounds about right. So some distortion or confusion of what day of the week it is seems to be going around right now. I have a squirrel folk NPC in my Saturday game, but I'm using a homebrew race I found on dndbeyond. I may have to get that pdf. Helps, that I have a friend who does allot of the artwork for Kobold Press (Bryan Syme). Also, got my shipping notification for my Treepen from Bad Squiddo Games!!! Sounds like they ran into unseen production issues & they won't be making anymore or what got sent to retail markets is it on the account of higher then normal production costs. Looking forward to seeing the final product. Also, (wow, lots of goodies) received my Faraway Seas pdf copy from Steamforged for Animal Adventures as well. This means the physical copies are only a couple months away. Have no idea if what my brain thought of will actually happen in the book. But the idea is sound. The bad guy is Hacking into a mech pilot's brain that's been previously hacked. And that may turn out bad for the Big Bad, the good guys, and the innocents around the space station. Might create or unleash an AI/awoken mind that takes control of everyone around him. Companies don’t follow proper processes, didn’t do the right testing, etc. They arrive by email and I have noticed that most involve electronic components that have been counterfeited. Since I am mechanical, for the most part, I can ignore these and my “evaluation” takes only the 15 seconds it takes to read the summary in the email. Had one this morning and decided to read the full report. It was for a magnetic switch. They are little black things you’d find on a circuit card. The report went into detail how the counterfeiters took components made in 1995 by another company and sanded off the logos, painted a new coating on, added the new logo, and heat embossed new markings. All of this is easily seen and puts a black mark on the supplier to not use them. The cost of these components from DigiKey? Buck and a nickel. $1.05. My mind boggles at someone risking their company for a dollar part. They had to have some automation here to make it worth anybody’s time. A buck! Seriously?! Their idea of a hot breakfast was to hand me a wrapped sandwich and point me to the microwave. Uh, no. But now that means a 45 minute commute rather than 20. Plus had to reschedule a physical and will miss a holiday party. Not happy. My task while there? Watch people work. If something happens, I will be around to fix it. Not happy. kristof65 Posted November 23, 2022 Share Posted November 23, 2022 Canadian distributor "informed" us last night that he's doing a new site start up today, and will need help this afternoon. Service Manager replied this morning and informed distributor that he is off this afternoon, while implying that I will be available to help. I am planning on leaving 90 minutes early today for my four day weekend. I'm debating between telling the service manager off, ignoring him & the distributor, or taking the call and deliberately screwing up the startup so that I'm never asked to do a Canadian one again.
