Battletech Mercenaries

I hadn’t originally planned to do a work in progress on this as after a certain amount of time I kinda sputter out on them. But after I started thinking about it I decided to go ahead and do it. 
This is my home brewed Mercenary company the Blue Ravens. The mechs are in various stages of completion. 
First up is the Famous or infamous, Timberwolf AKA Mad cat. I confess that my freehand is not the greatest, but at least you can tell it’s a mouth.

Next up is the Warbow the model for this one is a hybrid of a Warhammer and a Longbow. With the way the missile launchers look I’m attempting to give it a warplane look to a certain degree. 

and finally we have the Blackknight, a kintaro and a Catapult.

6mm scale. The bases are 45 mm, I’m not super fond of the itty bitty things they normally use for Battletech.

Looks good, your prints turned out very well! And @Glitterwolf traditionally Battletech is 1:285 scale. However, Ral Partha's old minis were all over the place in size.

I appreciate the info but it was @Chaoswolf who wanted to know about the scale.

Of course when you look at our avatars in black and white they are the same, so I get the confusion, We wolves tend to look a bit alike. 😄

I’m not entirely sure what the official size of the Battletech bases are. Other than too small.

Usual size for them now is 30mm.

Managed to squeeze in a bit of painting and some 3d printing.

With the mad cat I added some more blue and put some transparent green on the cockpit, and some gunmetal on the weapons.

on the Warbow I put another coat of yellow on the ends of the rocket launchers along with some mor blue markings. I removed the two missile plums that I had planned on in favor of something that I printed off just a bit ago.

Next is the black knight which consisted of working on its blue markings. I must admit it’s turning into one of my favorite mechs from a looks standpoint.

and finally we come to the big thing that has come off the printer. The Megalodon 100 ton mech by Strato Miniatures. It bears a close resemblance to the unseen marauder. I intend to use it as a Marauder II. I highly doubt it would fit on a 30mm base.

Those are turning out really nice. Love the Marauder 2, definitely looks like the original unseen from the 3050 TRO.

Had a full head of steam today so I made some more progress! 

Added some weapon colors and oily steel to the joints.

The marauder 2 got paint in general.

 

the Warbow got another coat of yellow(one of these days I’ll get some good yellow.) I also added the new missile plumes I wanted.

Finally the Black knight got weapon effects and oily steel, as well as a marking.

that shoulder badge was a pain. 


oh I forgot I did do some work on the Warbow’s and black knight’s canopies.

Here's a hint on you Unit Markings. Draw out your insignia larger, scan it into your computer, shrink it and then run multiples off on decal paper. It really works well.

I’ll definitely be looking into that. Be a lot easier than by hand.

I have gotten my Mad cat and black knight ready for a wash and clear coating! 

 

I actually got to play a couple games of alpha strike quick start rules over the weekend with some family, and that Timberwolf earned its pay by being a major pain. At the end it was finally slain when my opponent’s Atlas did a body slam on it, but not before the mad cat got the killing shot off on the atlas as well. In retrospect I found out we did that whole bit wrong because of our unfamiliarity with rules, but because of that we got a good laugh in when they killed eachother in a fiery clash 😂. The Timberwolf is definitely turning into a favorite.
